  1. Of course dumping failure all on Getz does not leave open the possibility that Venable is not the real deal.
  2. Lack of hustle is not a physical error. It’s called laziness. Judge did not make an error due to laziness, not nearly close to Vaughn lolligagging it. Also who made the claim everyone sees it through my eyes. You want to make the claim Vaughn was busting his rear end on that play go ahead.
  3. Do other teams try so hard to show their one trophy 20 years later? Do you see the Diamondbacks or Marlins trophies in their introductory videos? Serious question.
  4. Where’s @Jack Parkman been? He knew Kopech stats inside and out.
  5. It’s not what he believes! It’s what he says the new coach could say and be plausibly believable.
  6. They lost 121 games. Shouldn’t be too hard to find one.
  7. So the editor muted the last two characters but not the first word?
  8. You know he was responding to “What else is he supposed to say” don’t you? Why else would he put it in quotes?
  9. Yeah but we also witnessed crap like the hustling Cleveland batter beating a lolligagging Andrew Vaughn to first base. There was zero energy.
  10. Sounds like he will be a good drinking buddy for LaRussa.
  11. Of course he did but so did everyone else including St Joe Torre. He was better than his peers and they were all turning a blind eye. It’s a pox on all their houses, no doubt, including drunken LaRussa.
  12. Also between "It's a good hire and I'm happy" and "I hate that you're skeptical and I'm incapable of ignoring your skepticism."
  13. Fair. I have had to delete “Fire Dave McGuinness” and “Fire AJ Hinch” threads in the past.
  14. "Cautiously optimistic" yes. There's been half a dozen be "excited" posts. That's a giant leap.
  15. Pre-drunken senile LaRussa was one of the best managers.
  16. "Excited" is a bit of a stretch. The guy who said "puts pitchfork and torches back in the closet" was more like it.
  17. Is it too early to start a "Fire Will Venable" thread?
  18. It’s a ruse to keep Grady’s price tag down. They want to offer him no more than $2/hour more than the $15 he was making last year.
  19. I don’t think it’s as pathetic as caring what another fan thinks but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. When I get like this about posts I put them on ignore.
  20. All of this is as exciting as a root canal. You know you won’t be any better but you just hope you won’t be worse off than before but you can’t be sure until the Novocain wears off.
  21. Not every team has an experienced bench coach. Like he said.
  22. Garland was a top prospect who figured it out for 1.5 years. It happened to be in the right year. Buehrle was in fact the most unlikely to be a stud when he was drafted. Thank God he turned out to be one.
  23. Who’s putting it down? It’s just reality that when you trade Carlos Lee for Scott Podsednik you are not building the team to win. That they got incredibly lucky is great.
  24. Garland was dumb luck too. So was Podsednik. So was Iguchi.
