  1. I have Florida Gators season tickets which start in a few weeks. They’ve reached the CWS the last two years. At least that’s some enjoyment out of baseball.
  2. I think they've overestimated the Sox chances of making the playoffs.
  3. If I were a betting man it would be easy to bet that they did not nail it this time either.
  4. I’m not sure that’s the “own” you think it is.
  5. I’m not sure you know what collusion means if you’re suggesting the Sox, on their own, are colluding be uncompetitive. There is now a more balanced schedule than pre-2024. Three AL Central teams were among the final four in the AL. The East and West should have beat them when they faced them in the playoffs. They should get better, not collude to help the White Sox.
  6. That’s a wild assumption that Semien and Tatis would be as productive if they stayed in the White Sox organization.
  7. Why would fans post their resumes here? It's not like the White Sox did a search.
  8. In most jobs doesn’t failure at a lower level imply failure at a higher level? If a teacher sucks at teaching what would suggest success as principal? And why would anyone promote such a failure? Why not promote Grifol to GM if past success is irrelevant?
  9. There’s nothing to suggest it will be any more successful than hiring any one of the commenters here on Soxtalk. What can we point to in his past that would suggest success at a higher level position?
  10. Also there is nothing in the GM's career to suggest that if he did have the financial backing he could put together a master plan that would actually work.
  11. I'm not sure referencing Hillary Duff and Wanda Sykes is the own he thinks it is.
  12. Of course when they were in a perfect position they took a pass on Harper and Machado, giving them unserious offers. That was when the last rebuild died.
  13. Reinsdorf intentionally dismantled the Jordan Bulls. That alone discredits any one of those six championships he inherited. Yes, he is worse than Halas and the Cub owners. Not just for the dismantling but for his taxpayer funded stadium as well. He’s a crappy owner and a grifter.
  14. I suppose if they have the top five starting pitchers at each level then there is no room for improvement. If only we had a recent example of minor league starting pitchers flaming out in this system.
  15. But the thing is that in over a hundred years even when teams have tried to lose they were never able to lose that many games.
  16. I do wonder how many of those teams traded their best pitcher in the offseason and were shopping their best hitter. I think we may be in uncharted territory.
  17. OT but I was thinking this morning … the max contract the Sox have ever dished out is 10 percent of what Soto and Ohtani got. That’s just hilarious.
