  1. Still got to beat the bad teams. If Arizona doesn’t lose to the Sox they are in the playoffs.
  2. Sizemore played with Cleveland so they can sell that as an outside hire.
  3. Yeah I'm just taking issue with every close game being an instant classic. Anyone remember the Phillies game from the other night?
  4. They also used it the other day for the Castellanos game for the Phillies. They used it in the first round in Milwaukee series, must have been for the game three home run.
  5. MLB.com abuses the term “instant classic”. They said that about this game. I never once thought a game that was 6-1 after 2 was an “instant classic”. Maybe I have higher standards. Of course mlb.com has had about half a dozen instant classics this offseason …
  6. Yes. I would have let him go until he got in trouble. Can’t afford to lose a winnable game in a short series.
  7. Didn’t see this. What happened?
  8. Manager cannot pull a pitcher on a roll like that in a short series like this.
  9. Who would he have replaced?
  10. I’m not sure Crochet is an upgrade. Maybe??
  11. So are they losing their top three pitchers this offseason?
  12. Crochet would not have been a #1 on Baltimore or Boston and I doubt he would have pitched in the series for Baltimore. Maybe if they forced a game 3.
  13. This. The rule has held for 40+ years. Not sure how much more evidence is needed. It's not a small sample size.
  14. They will never end up with a guy with experience and will take the $15/hour guy that everyone on the worst team in history happens to like.
  15. They can choose whoever they want. Those with a future will decline their offer.
  16. When Roberts does that two years in a row we can say it’s no longer an outlier. Until then you can plan on him being injured just like you can plan on the sun rising. He will be Byron Buxton until he proves otherwise.
  17. I just look at trends. He got hurt in the minors. He was hurt in every year in the majors but 2023. No doubt a full season rather than a third of a season he gets hurt. There’s one aberration where he plays more than 100 games. The numbers are what the numbers are.
  18. It’s not a real season so it doesn’t really count. He would have been hurt had it been a full season.
  19. The trend is actually that he gets hurt every single year. 2023 was the outlier. You can count on it for next year too.
  20. Can’t someone read about them daily? Dive into the stats on any number of sites. Gather info from any number of sources, often more entertaining than the torture it is to watch and listen to a White Sox game.
  21. Sale won the World Series a year after.
  22. “I save my emotion for posts I don’t like. That’s what gets me emotional.”
  23. I hope they win the World Series the next five years!
  24. No but there’s a certain amount of decency in being honest with your customers.
