The issue here is that Machado was given a contract WAY below market value. So it allowed at team, (Padres) to come in and offer him market value.. Donaldson is already probably there or above it so someone won't just "swoop" in now, imo.
AND Jose Ramirez forgot how to baseball the first two months of the season. But I also do not think Lindor will be on the Indians come the trade deadline, regardless of their positioning.
hmmm
This offseason gets a B+ from me. Which is still outstanding.
I just can't give them an A or A+ with Keuchel being our best SP addition (I don't hate it, just meh). B+ is great.
Yeah his market completed died (which is what I expected).. There's got to be a point in which this would be a fine move... 3 years for 12-15 million a year seems to be that range.

Still need a long man imo (McHugh)?
ironically this is a guy that his traditional stats don't match the advanced stats. Sometimes guys just break the advanced stats mold. (Note: his advanced stats aren't super far off)
Andrew Miller picked up Clint Frazier AND Justus Sheffield... Frazier was a top 20 prospect and Sheffield a top 80.. They got a lot more than a few lottery tickets,.
It would cost for Hader, Vaughn/Madrigal, Dunning + +.
I really enjoy the idea of trading for Diaz and making him our closer.. I just think it would take Dunning (who was a top 70 prospect prior to TJ) to get a deal done and I wouldn't want to move him.. Collins + Rutherford sounds fine to me though. Though I'd imagine the Mets could get more elsewhere should they decide to move them. I find that uncertain since I don't think they are/or should be rebuilding.
Probably just because of his age and being worried about blowing 10 million a year IF he busts this year already. Never know with that old of a RP. I personally would be content with it..
