There's no reason to panic sell at a time when your team is reeling and other GM's recognize that and will try to take advantage of an emotional hit of the panic button. Why do you think Hahn's phone is ringing off the hook in the past week? A lot of terrible emotional losses when the team was already on the edge of being out of it.

It's like a bunch of vultures circling a dying animal waiting to strike.

Like I said, if they really want to move him I'd prefer they be patient and wait a year or two for someone to knock their socks off.

That's the exact opposite of how things are now. GM's are desperate, we don't need to sell either but should because the pitching market is thin and Hahn should be receiving deals to knock his sock off. It's always wait a year or two with this ballclub. Before you know if Q or Sale will be injured/ineffective and we'll be shrugging our shoulders wondering why we didn't move one sooner. Meanwhile, it'll still be the same ol' .500 ballclub.

I mean, he really wasn't all that great when he was with Baltimore for a few years. I wonder how it just "clicked" for him when he got to Chicago.

Pitching to 8 batters and a pitcher helps things. Most AL pitchers when the go to the NL have better stats. But the Sox organization thinks its a lateral move when they expect an NL guy to have those same numbers throwing in the AL.

This ump sucks

What's the plan wit Fulmer+ are they protecting his fragile ego or something?

I'd love to see him close tonight but they will probably turn it over to Jennings.

? More like Saladino.

Hate the Albers vs Montero matchup here. Dead low ball hitter.

The best return possible for Sale will be had in the offseason because it brings ML players into the picture. Since it's the offseason a team can fill those holes without compromising playoff odds midseason. Most teams don't want to give up the entire farm for Sale, so any deal is probably going to require a major league player.

Also, take into account that the FA market for pitching this offseason is pretty poor.

I wouldn't expect only prospects for Sale, you have to throw in a ML player or two

High fastball!

Albers with a near-Jenks reaction there

Cat still shows up sometimes!

No chance you get that at the trade deadline.

Scott Merkin with Sale exclusive first interview since the incident. Sale promptly throws Ventura under the bus.

Ar one point I thought they might introduce Fulmer to the closer broke and maybe trade Robertson

Oh so that was the problem all along. Makes sense - but good luck convincing many people here that the manager matters

What did he say?

I think Kanle will close.

There has to be a lot of crazy baseball things more common than a Tim Anderson walk.
