Will Brett Lawrie be Non-Tendered?

Featured Replies

If you're rebuilding, play Garcia as the full time DH.

At least we have an ambiguous White Sox rumor from a credible source. Lion feasting and all. Love that kids intensity ?

The deadline to tender contracts is December 2nd. Seems weird that he would be non tendered now.

The idea of watching Carlos Sanchez ground out to 2nd base for an entire season makes me want to vomit, but hey....rebuilding!

Teams are in a hurry to make moves because of the CBA uncertainty

Oooooooooor, they'll be getting some top prospect 2b stud back in a trade.

It's cool. Just freeing up a spot for Alex Bregman.

I'm not familiar with Hustons farm but is a Sale for Bergman, Martes, Tucker, Fisher, and Whitely:

A) Enough for the Sox

B) Something Huston would even consider

Don't fear....Moncada is here! :D

A. Yes

B. Probably not.

I saw Tucker play this summer in the Quad Cities...he has a long ways to go. And his power is going to take time to develop.

At any rate, if healthy, Saladino would be playing over Sanchez. Or should be, unless you're going to throw out the last 2-3 years and go with Sanchez's September numbers.

still nothing other than rumors, everyone being tight lipped AF

Straight up reading tea leaves here, but people being tight lipped about it makes me feel like something else is in the works. No reason for that if it's just a non-tender situation.

Very odd indeed. Will know something soon since it's out there

Agreed. A non-tender is a fairly inconsequential move, so they would've announced it by now if it was an isolated transaction. I bet a trade is coming next and it wouldn't surprise me if Sale or Q were involved.

Someone on twitter speculated that maybe the Sox just told Lawrie that he won't be returning to the team because they are going to non-tender him IF they can't find a trading spot for him. So could be that he's not returning, but via what transaction we may not know until the 2nd.

Trying to finish this A&P study guide. This is so distracting lol

Yeah, this pretty much confirms a Sale for Moncada+ trade is coming.

Exactly what I'm thinking too.

Does it really? Or is that sarcasm?

What's our 40 man roster at? Non-tendering Lawrie would clear a spot if needed. Could hint at another major deal being in the works.

Because of the CBA uncertainty, you're seeing a flurry of moves more quickly into the off-season than in previous years. I think we could see some deals with the ChiSox very soon.

Did Lawries twitter profile ever say anything about being with the white sox? Nothing relating to it now

Sorry, it was sarcasm or moreso wishful thinking. But hey, maybe there are some legs here.

I know Bregman is a SS, but has he played any 2B in his career?

Yup. He changed it.

His profile used to have a picture of him and Saladino celebrating and it had "South Side Sox" or something along those lines in his bio.
