Indians sign Edwin Encarnacion

Heyman just tweeted "tribe got EE"

3 years $60M. Good for the Indians, hope they kill it this year.

Good thing we aren't trying to compete next two years

Helps us in the quest for the #1 pick

Decent deal for him, but I expect he'll fire his agent next week. :)

They really only needed to get healthy to improve dramatically for 2017. It'll be interesting to see what the Tigers and Royals do.

There's an option 4th year for $20m, $5m buyout.

Indians have the division by the balls for the next couple of years.

Good for them (but still !@#$ the Indians)

Great move for CLE. If their SPs stay healthy they'll make another run at it.

That might help the dominoes fall a bit around the league I hope.

Looking at you Fraz.

They are both rebuilding if this offseason is any indication. It's the Indians division to lose, no question.

The Royals will definitely try to contend, but if they are done by the break, Moustakas, Cain, Hosmer, and every pitcher will be out there.

Smart move by the Tribe. They have no competition in the ALC but they have to make sure they stay competitive with Boston, Toronto, Houston and Texas.

I'll be shocked if the Tribe aren't ahead of 2nd place by at least 15+ games when the deadline comes up. They should literally walk away from everyone in the ALC in '17.

I'm thinking the same thing. I think every team not named Cleveland will be hoping certain players perform well enough to be traded in July. The ALC will look like Walmart on Black Friday.

" It's the July 31st American League Central Black Monday Event: Everything Is On Sale Now!"

I just hope it doesn't turn into the $5 or less DVD bin.

I bet Detroit is better than we expect. Royals too.

The Tribe should seriously thank Oakland for jumping into the mix and making the choice much easier for EE.

Agreed. And never rule out a team with two Hall of Famers on it.

Wow, that is like half of what he was looking for to start with.

Frazier market will probably start heating up a little.

He turned down 4/$80m from the Jays. Him and Bautista both screwed themselves.

That's pretty much what he got from cleveland with a guaranteed playoff run.

He can still get that with the Indians if his optio gets picked up (probably won't though). This deal is a bargain for the Indians.

Hopefully, but there are still plenty of options in Trumbo and Bautista.

He still has $20m less in guaranteed money than he would've staying in Toronto.

I was hoping Texas to push Houston to make a decent proposal.
