It is not unprecedented, but I don't think this tips the scale. Where you do see it is if a governor loses legitimacy in governing, where congress refuses to send legislation where the executive would be required to enact the law.

He should use some actual leverage before getting praised for making token gestures.

 

I don't actually expect him to oppose awful conservative policies because he follows an awful conservative ideology. But it is something he could theoretically do that could actually make a difference beyond giving a speech or send a $100 check.

He could also take a lesser stance and refuse to meet with the multiply-accused sexual assaulter-in-chief who's busy defending a child predator rather than sit next to him for photo ops, which I believe is Balta's original point.

Nobody has any experience for how to create a random sample in this state or how to build a likely voter model when one of the two candidates is endorsed by the President and, like the president, is also an accused sex offender.

I'd be shocked if Jones won. Sad

No, which is why I added that explainer. Fox uses a legitimate and good independent polling company for their surveys, same as every other major media org does.

 

The big difference is the Emerson poll is land line only and the fox one includes cell phones, and as balta said, constructing the voter turnout model for tomorrow involves a huge amount of guesswork. If the 2016 electorate turns out, it's Moore by a decent amount. If there's a decent uptick in black and younger voter turnout, Jones could pull it off. I wouldn't be shocked by anything from Jones +3/4 to Moore +10 as the actual result.
