DRAFT TRACKER 2017, and Day One Discussion

Featured Replies

Burger was par for my personal order though I slightly preferred White. All in all I'm happy with it and hope he works out. It wasn't too long ago that Burger was looked at as a top of the class pick, about this time last year. He's got a lot to like

The Burger/Beer dream lives on!

Not if sox win 70 plus games

You serious Clarke?

The Reds won 68 games and picked 2. If the Sox win 71-73 games, they have a shot at Beer. Don't assume he's definitely going top 3.

Higher than I thought for Clarke with the surgery and all.

Way to ask hard hitting questions Benetti

I like Jim Callie but I feel like their scouting grades have a lot of grade inflation.

Good luck in Seattle Mr. White.

I still think he looks like Josh Fields

Fields was a better hitter in college actually average wise. Burger has shown more power and a lower K rate than Fields.

Hostetler just got asked about trading picks, similar to what I asked in another thread. He said it's coming in the next CBA or two but he's not thrilled about it

White to Seattle at #17. That's gonna be a fun follow/reminder with some people here....

Faedo to DET is kind of scary to me.

Sox don't need Burger to be a 3B. They'll have Machado in 2019 to play that spot.

Is there really any point in the team reps at the tables?

Was hoping they'd take Kendall.

Underslot only makes sense if there's some crazy deal to be had. No one you're getting at 49 is going to be worth passing on a first-half 1st round talent. And if the draft is this weak, what are you excited for in rounds 3-8?

I just can't imagine picking Burger over White.

Sounds like Hostetler likes Burger alot at 3B.

Ideally, yes, green aside.

Easily imaginable if they don't think White can play in the outfield.

Unless they find teams to take these horrific deals they gave their players, the Tigers aren't much of a concern for the next few years IMO

I wonder how far Kendall falls now.

Dodgers

I like this pick more than Collins last year. I stated in an off season thread why I did not like Collins (related to his College stats) and his performance this year bears that out. At least with Burger it is hopeful he will not have swing and miss issues and he has the power to be a mlb regular. IMO his defensive issues are no worse than those being stated for Collins last year and working with professional trainers hopefully he can transform his body as I believe I read Collins did this year.
