what's his skill set?

Why do you like him?

CF?

alright now take the best prep at 117, picks 1-3 should've saved a fair bit of money.

There ya go guys.

F*ck yes!

Gonzalez is the guy we all wanted!

He sounds like Alex Call to me.

So the only names I actually know are Alex Scherff and Montes De Oca at this point.

Neat at someone calling the pick. The White Sox draft is so Moneyball so far.

The draft picks feel so much different now that we have some great young talent in the minors already. Its like every pick feels like icing on a cake instead of desperation that someway or somehow one of the guys make it in the big leagues.

Mind you these picks are just as important as all the other years. It just feels like less pressure.

Our organizational position player depth continues to be bolstered with the additions of Robert, Burger, Sheets and now Gonzalez

I'd like some arms added to the system in the next few picks though

Agreed. In 2016 it felt like we really needed to nail every selection otherwise our future was screwed. Now it feels better having a much improved farm that we are adding depth to. Our future from 2020 onwards looks bright.

Also Hostetler mentioned lots that they wanted more prep players this year to even out our org. Not the case so far.

Nice! More OBP please.

Above average defender with great instincts and an arm that can top out at 90mph from the mound, a very discerning eye, above average speed and left handed. If it all comes together we could be looking at a Ender Inciarte type of player. Klaw had him mocked to go at the end of the first round a few mocks ago. Fits the mold of what Hahn and Hostetler want and could move quickly through the system. Will create a nice wave of talent and depth with Burger, Sheets, Call, Fisher and Danny Mendick.

edit - mendick not dickman

That probably has more to do with who was getting picked in front of them. For example, a lot of HS kids were picked right in front of them this morning.

Hickman?

I like this pick a lot. Sox are certainly targeting guys that can command the strike zone.

Lots of catchers going in round 3.

Danny Mendick; brain fart
