Besides being a White Sox, you have to pull for him. He plays hard. He even runs out to his position hard.

Yep, no doubt. The kid plays the game the right way.

Yep. With his defense out there in the outfield, I think he probably has the majority of starts in Center next year as long as he stays healthy, no mattee really how he hits, just because he saves a lot of pitchers some headache with the range he has out there. Anything he does offensively is a plus. So you can sit back and enjoy him next year for probably at least a couple more months haha.

Yeah, don't see anyone taking CF from Engel. Polo might be the next best chance for CF but he shouldn't be ready until mid summer next year. Engel should be safe for a while.

KC just ran themselves out of that inning.

As a team that is in 5th in the AL central, really dont have any room here to speak, but the Royals have made some pretty boneheaded mistakes during this series that have essentially cost them the series (if the Sox end up pulling through here.)

What a fricking outstanding season for Avi. The whole damn year. Pushing that average back to .330 now. Wasn't down to nearly .300 like a month or so ago? Just amazing.

Avi seems like he gets 2 hits almost every game..325 now actually.

Ya Avi really has had a terrific season. Every time I think he's about to tank, he just doesn't. I couldn't have been more wrong about him and I couldn't be happier about it.

Hawk is really off today. Sox by two Hawk, not three.lol. I think he referred to KC's RF as Avi earlier in the game. Gotta love him though.

We should just get our bullpen back from the Yankees and Brewers, call up Kopech and Eloy and just win the World Series this year.

For those pro tankers out there...Looking at the upcoming series with Detroit...if the Sox win today, they will only be 2 games behind Detroit in the standings. In the 4 games upcoming, none of Detroit's projected starters have an ERA under 5, and their only offense is essentially Miggy. We are however throwing Shields, Fulmer, and I'm guessing Pelfrey or Holmberg Holmberg and then probably ReyLo. With the way the Sox are hitting and playing, and with Detroit struggling mightily, coupled with how the Sox have played them this year, the Sox may actually move into 4th place in the division come Sunday.

The Royals roster on OD should be interesting. Last time Hosmer faces the Sox in this uniform.

Yoan on base 4 times today.

OPS back over 700

He has a 14 game on base streak too.

What's gotten into this damn bunch? Don't Moncada and Avi know they are supposed to be LOSING? TA too. We have some dumb players.

I've always been pro tank but not at the expense of our young guys. These are the EXACT type of games I want to see the rest of this season and into next. If we're getting good starts out of Gio and Yoan and TA are going to spark rallies then f*** losing. If Shields is going to go out there and get hit around then f*** winning.

Completely agree, plus if this series helps put the nail in the coffin for the Royals' playoff hopes that's just an extra bonus.

I just want the season to be over and the Sox to have the 3rd pick.

Another great start for Giolito. Boy remember when people were freaking out about his 5-6 ERA in AAA a matter of months ago?

Man this rotation is gonna be beastly in a few years. Like the A's back when they had Zito/Hudson/Mulder or 90's Braves

QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 05:40 PM)
What's your point?

Well, draft position wise, that would put Philadelphia, San Fran, AND Detroit ahead of us. 4th draft pick instead of top 3.

Plus, 4th place in the division...no one really expected the Sox to leave the cellar in the 1st rebuilding year. The fact that there are teams worse off than us (especially in our own division) is oddly comforting.

Now, the Sox have games left to play still against Houston, Angels and not to mention the last 3 against Cleveland, so they probably have one good losing streak left in them, but they might just finish ahead of Detroit. No one thought that would happen.

this team is awful fun to watch...just a breath of fresh air from years past. Growing pains...sure...but well worth it moving forward.

Cooper is that good. Is he the only good coach in our organization? Not trying to flame or anger anybody, just asking cause Coop has a lot of success stories.

Oops. 3 more in Chicago.

Giolito was coming on strong in his last 4 or 5 starts in the minors. Heaping credit on Coop while asking is he our only good coach is naive. The Sox have a system wide pitching philosophy in place. SUre Cooper deserves credit but so do all the pitching coaches throughout the minor league system.

If true, great. What about hitting instruction?

And who put that particular philosophy in place? Cooper.
