October 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 07:30 AM) StatCast said it was the highest home run hit the entire season. Between that hit and the Puig check swing homer, something is going on. Minute Maid Park was the top pitchers park all year too. Maybe the Astros took a page from the Twins notebook on how to use the AC to their advantage. Seriously though. It's a combo of the ball and that during the Astros rebuild Luhnow has not been shy about building his team's with more power in mind over the last few years.

As a baseball fan, this makes me so happy.
October 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 01:30 PM) TV Ratings: World Series Climbs, Trouncing Sunday Night Football #KeepTakingAKnee http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed...ootball-1052876 I would hope that the ratings for a sport's championship would be much greater than a regular season game in a different sport.
October 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 02:04 PM) I would hope that the ratings for a sport's championship would be much greater than a regular season game in a different sport. With 2 of the top 3 television markets in the country playing. If this was Kansas City and Florida it is a different story.
October 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 02:04 PM) I would hope that the ratings for a sport's championship would be much greater than a regular season game in a different sport. That hasn't been the case though. Thankfully the NFL keeps destroying itself and MLB continues to put out an awesome product
October 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 04:14 PM) That hasn't been the case though. Thankfully the NFL keeps destroying itself and MLB continues to put out an awesome product As much as I'd like to see baseball be the #1 sport in this country again, it's not gonna happen. Football will still be king for the foreseeable future. The people who are boycotting the NFL because of the protests will forget about it soon enough and watch again.
October 31, 20178 yr Author QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) As much as I'd like to see baseball be the #1 sport in this country again, it's not gonna happen. Football will still be king for the foreseeable future. The people who are boycotting the NFL because of the protests will forget about it soon enough and watch again. Regular season baseball games as stand alone events are a tough sell. The excitement of these games have a lot to do with how much these games matter. Regular season games just do not matter as much as NFL games
October 31, 20178 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 21, 2017 -> 10:40 PM) Astros in 6 Altuve MVP I suppose if Altuve has a big game, it's possible, but Bregman and Springer are probably leading that unless I'm forgetting something. A Game 7 would be cool, but I'm hoping Verlander throws a complete game, and the Astros win 2-0.
October 31, 20178 yr Astros fans are saying the team should wear their tequila sunrise uniforms for good luck tonight since today is Halloween and those jerseys somewhat resemble candy corn and I fully agree with them. Edited October 31, 20178 yr by coco1997
October 31, 20178 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 03:58 PM) Hinch says McCullers would be used to close out game tonight. no guts no glory.
November 1, 20178 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 04:58 PM) no guts no glory. It's funny because the Astros bullpen has been so bad that Hinch hasn't been able to wear out his relievers like Roberts has. He's been forced to use his other starters and long relievers, which has worked out so far.
November 1, 20178 yr @AndyMcCullough Rich Hill was very unhappy with Yuli Gurriel's gesture to Yu Darvish in Game 3. Hill stepped off the mound so the fans could boo more.
November 1, 20178 yr Author QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) @AndyMcCullough Rich Hill was very unhappy with Yuli Gurriel's gesture to Yu Darvish in Game 3. Hill stepped off the mound so the fans could boo more. and then left early. Good on him.
November 1, 20178 yr Come on Dodgers, a win tonight gives Darvish a chance to redeem himself for game 7.
November 1, 20178 yr QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 09:14 PM) and then left early. Good on him. Meh. Sorry that a player showed his emotion on the field.
November 1, 20178 yr Only 20 pitches for Jansen in 2 innings today. Kershaw available, McCullers starting, should be a great game 7. A lot nicer when you don't have a strong dislike for one of the teams. I'll be at the UC following on the mobile
November 1, 20178 yr And since this is live again...since 1985, teams going home down 3-2 in a best-of-seven are 14-2 when they force Game 7. #dodgers #astros That's from Joe Sheehan Twitter, best follow if you like baseball
November 1, 20178 yr QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 09:08 AM) If the world series turns out like this every year from a juiced ball, don't stop juicing it. These games have been so fun. I would take Jack Morris vs. John Smoltz 0-0 going into the 10th inning any day of the year over a 13-12 mess of a game.
