This may be hyperbolic, but when I watch Cease, I see a more surer thing to be a great big leaguer than Kopech. I just don’t know in which role.

Lol...so very true.  It’s like if we let Greg write articles for FutureSox about how dumb prospects are and how the key to the draft is to always draft that year’s Mike Trout.

Great. He's gonna get killed in the bigs at that level. His command is usually on par with Giolito.

  • But you can't call him up because it starts his service time clock.

Totally agree, just needs to stay healthy

If you watch this game and say there are 5 better pitching prospects in baseball, then that's surprising

Yeah, when he keeps his delivery together, which he has most of the year,, he’s pretty tough.  Kopech hasn’t gotten on a run yet, though.  Middle to end of last year he was unhittable.  Glad we have both.

Collins has really, really come a long way this year. And its still only May.

Dude's going to end the night with a wRC+ in the 160 range. If anything, I don't think there's enough excitement around him right now.

Cease has lost his command in the 4th. To me, he loses his rhythm big time out of the  stretch.

Totally

Cease is done.  7.1 4H 1ER 2BB 9K

Great game for Cease. Dude looks like he could be the real deal in a couple years

Yea I got moist when you posted this.

They could replace Benetti and Stone with these guys, and I’d be ok with it.

At this point it's still a few years away but FFS baseball has to change this asinine system.  Find an incentive for clubs to promote these guys for 100% baseball reasons, or as close to that 100% as you can.  Probably should just give roster bonuses that have little if anything to do with arbitration.

I’m thinking maybe A ball isn’t challenging Cease

Anthony Villa through 100+ PAs is somehow putting up a near .500 BABIP. That's just crazy. That dude needs to pick my lotto numbers.

The weird thing is that Kanny has one of the best records in the minor leagues of any team...and they have the least amount of "prospect talent" of any team in our system.

Jirschele has (seemingly) done a very good job with them.

Also, they’re relatively old for the level.  Laz Rivera is already 23, for instance and Dedelow was a senior sign as well.  It’s like we’ve got two Hi A affiliates

They've got a very good OF, and their starting pitching has been fantastic. The Sox are going to get something that contributes to the ML team out of that Kanny rotation.

Ian Hamilton hunkered down in the bottom of the 9th and preserved the tie to put BIRM into the 10th.

The big names should get an opportunity this inning to take the lead....well, maybe not, Schroeder/Polo/Mendick, hopefully one can get on to get the game to Collins/Jimenez/Rose.

Ian Hamilton strikes out the side for the Barons.  Wouldn’t be shocked to see him in the bigs by the end of the year.

They are basically a High A team playing in Low A though. This is what happens when you draft as many college players as the Sox do

Collins with runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.

Fisher pinch ran and got cut down trying to get to 3rd on a ball hit on the infield...

And he walks on 4 pitches to bring up Jimenez with bases loaded.   3 for 3, plus 3 walks.

3-3, 3 BBs for Collins.
