Nah, he's trash and should be sent back to Oakland, just ask SoxTalk.

Covey, Tilson and Kevan Smith helped lead the way to win over Indians and one of the best pitchers in baseball.  Shocking

that was fun....

Against a bunch of bad teams, though. Oh wait...nevermind.

Always nice to see them play better. Fundamentally sound tonight including the bunt that brought home a run.

Coyotes are potential predators for Condors.

Dylan Coyote is now his nickname.

At times he has the sinker from hell.  Ceiling is Jon Garland

Actually it's  8-5  :)

8 straight games now without a run given up by the bullpen

I think his ceiling is higher than Garland because I feel like Garland had a lot of unrealized potential.

Higher ceiling for me than Garland due to ability to strike people out. However the likelihood he reaches that if very slim.

Amazing how mediocre Garland's stats were

I think they have the same stuff, but hopefully he harnesses it better

Must be pretty rare to have a 1st baseman turn 2 DP's the way Jose did tonight.

Covey pitched well, Smith called a great game, TA with a key walk and Tilson with triple after, Abreu's defense, Fry gets out of a big jam and Soria closes it out. Lots to be happy about.

BTW, Garland had a career 4.37 ERA.  Thats not bad

Not in that era.

Solid back of the rotation guy.

More like his low K/9 rate, etc.  advanced metrics didn't love him. Also something interesting is so far, Covey gb pct is like 10 pct higher.

To clarify, by no means do I think Covey can be as good as Garland was.

That's impressive considering what had been happening , I think Jace Fry has given Jones , Soria et al a kick up the backside with his performances.

Good to see some of these guys stepping up and giving us options moving forward with the rebuild. Glad they are keeping Kopech and Jimenez down so there is no pressure on the guys making the decisions to call them up and they can develop properly.
