You couldnt pay me to attend a Gio game

I went to the game last night which is rare for me (weekday night games). I was nervous with Shields on the mound.

His delivery is like watching an octopus fall out of a tree.

  • Yep, we have too much pitching

  • I'm not going to let the first inning and then one bad pitch to LoMo take away from this start either. Its still the progress we wanted to see.

The question should’ve been “ do our pitchers throw too many pitches?”

Looks like Giolito is ditching the curve for the slider. That is ok, because his slider is nasty too.

Wow completely different pitcher 2nd inning. Threw strikes and limited number if pitches. Looks to not have the release point on that curve quite yet.

Much better second inning for Lucas

The twins bottom 3 hitter could be worse than the The sox bottom 3 hitters. And that's tough to do.

It's Nuke Laloosh from Bull Durham.

He's just about exactly the same as he's always been, except with more walks.

Stone is burning the hell out if Benetti

If we could stop striking out against Odorizzi that would be swell.

Would like to see Gio miss some bats but weak contact is ok.

You can tell Stone likes Jason as a person, you can also tell at times that Stone wonders if Jason has any idea what he's watching.

Sox pitchers seems to have issues in the first inning. I wonder if there is some weird issue like the mound in the bullpen being different than the one in play. I would doubt it as they would have fixed it by now but it seems too consistent not to be an issue like that.

Weak contact is better, fewer pitches.

They seem to love each other. They now live in the same building. I
