Short term memory? Lucky for you the internet does not forget. A, What terrible moves have i asked the Sox to make. Advocating trading for a utility player when we already have a better uti

  • Signing Pollock is a great way for Engel to get 350 ABs as the starting CF too.

  • You know, what about Yoan at catcher?         ?

Hey guys, guess who are free agents!

Dan Jennings!

Luis Avilan!

Xavier Cedeno!

BRING THEM BACK HOME!

The Sox lost 470lbs and got a whole lot better today.

Robbie Grossman and Wilmer Flores are intriguing to me because they both have good platoon splits against lefties which we might be needing next year as we just let go of one of our best hitter against lefties. Jordan Patterson is also an interesting guy. Not much major league playing experience, but he put up some good numbers in AAA (though it was in a hitters park in the PCL) and he got claimed by several teams so other organizations think he might be something too.

Jordan Patterson was claimed by the Reds

They did not get better today. They saved $10 million and 2 roster spots. That alone doesn't make them a whole lot better. What they do with those roster spots could make them better.  But only if they use it well.

And was just non tendered by the Reds yesterday.

Anyone know is Vogt is healthy enough to play next season? Know he had a major shoulder operation. Isn’t a great defensive catcher, but would be a great weak side of the platoon with Castillo and imagine would cost virtually nothing.

I really want the Sox to end up with Brad Boxberger.

Last year he had when he spent 81 games in Chase Field, he had 32 SVs, 71 Ks in 51.1 IP which comes out to 12 K/9.

Sign: Yusei Kikuchi, Mike Moustakas, Carlos Gonzalez, James McCann, and AJ Ramos

Trade: Yolmer Sanchez, Carson Fulmer and Bernardo Flores to the Brewers for Domingo Santana.

C- Castillo

1B- Jose

2B- Moncada

SS- Anderson

3B- Moustakas

LF- Santana

CF- Engel

RF- Gonzalez

DH- Palka

Bench- McCann, Leury, Rondon, Delmonico

SP- Rondon

SP- Lopez

SP- Kikuchi

SP- Giolito

SP- Covey

RP- Minaya

RP- Bummer

RP- Hamilton

RP- Ramos

RP- Frye

RP- Jones

RP- Colome

I would loosely guesstimate the payroll around $90 mil while making the team fairly intriguing and competitive. Kikuchi is the only contract beyond 2020.

Possible 3 team deal could make sense with a frame like:

Mets- Kluber

Brewers- Thor

Indians- Hiura, Ray, Woodruff

Why wouldn't the Brewers and Indians just cut the Mets out and deal Kluber to the Brewers in that case?

Thor has one more year of control

Both have 3 years. If you're using Baseball Reference, guys who are free agents this current off-season are listed as 2019. Syndergaard is listed as 2022 meaning 21 is his last year of control.

He fell apart in the 2nd half, but yeah, he's worth a shot.

Yusei Kikuchi should be posted really soon

So that sounds like it doesn't include Seager which means they still might have to use someone else on their roster to get rid of his contract.
