Didn't know where to put this so I started a new thread. ESPN apparently "forget" about the White Sox yet again in a tweet. Frank Thomas saw it...and let them know about it:

It is remarkable how that network keeps getting the details wrong. You'd think they'd have researchers and basically an unlimited data base to check facts. Shameful journalism. 

ESPN is trolling the Sox by this point.

Sox will have to sign both Harper and Machado, then win multiple World Series titles to become relevant.

I find this both hilarious and infuriating at the same time. Just goes to prove that nobody gives a fuck about the White Sox other than White Sox fans. Hell, sometimes I think they are the most irrelevant team in baseball.

Love that Frank is an analyst. Media/kids need to know how great of a player that man was. His stats still blow me away.

Frank Thomas is one of the best right handed hitters in baseball history. Amongst the best of the best in the HOF. If the dude could play any sort of defense, he'd be a legend.

I agree with you, but most people always knock his defense. What that man could do with a baseball bat is legendary. He's a legend to those in Chicago who watched him every day, but he's not talked about the way he should. He's damn near on baseball Mt. Rushmore. The unquestionable greatest RH hitter of his time. He's way too underrated nationally.

Playing for the Sox, never really winning a World Series that he was actually a part of, injuries later in his Sox career, not staying with one team, only 5 all star appearances (none after 1997), no MVPs after his 5th year in the league.

Is there any reason he didn't play for the Sox his entire career? I was just getting into baseball at that time.

To be "fair" that awful tweet also left our Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols and a handful of other guys. The comments on that tweet are FULL of omissions. Really just an awful tweet for someone who claims to be a researcher.

Thomas was seriously one of the best ever, I still cant believe how good he was compared to today's players, head and shoulders above most if not all RH hitters in today's game, including trout.  from a purely hitting perspective obviously

It was just kinda time. Frank kept getting injured, Sox had just won World Series and were in full on compete mode.

He went on to have pretty good year in Oakland while sox got Thome so it was hard to complain.

Otoh, Sox has such issues in CF maybe Rowand + Thomas could have ended up better.

Totally forgot he didn’t make 2000 all star team. Had he won MVP that year I wonder how often that would have happened.

I dont agree, i think a lot of people talk about Frank outside of Chicago
