November 30, 20187 yr https://twitter.com/nightengalejr/status/1068600588638801925 I find this interesting. Contenders should be all over this after the base stealing specialist was a thing last year.
November 30, 20187 yr The Reds just non-tendered him...should the Sox be all over this? I'd take him over Engel in a heartbeat.

November 30, 20187 yr Yeah I would 100% gamble on him. Let him hit 9th and catch everything hit in CF and the gaps.
November 30, 20187 yr Author I just think that hamilton is going to be in the league until he's like 38 but only playing in september/october each year.

His defense is better, his base stealing is way better, his hitting is slightly better with the potential of being a good bit better (assuming Hamilton can improve under a new hitting coach)

November 30, 20187 yr Jarrod Dyson has had a nice career as a role player on contending teams. Billy could follow a similar path. Edited November 30, 20187 yr by FT35

November 30, 20187 yr I'd love Billy Ham as a bench/4th OF, but we aren't a contending team. There's just no reason for him to be added to the CWS at this point.
November 30, 20187 yr Im into this. He may not be a whole lot better than Engel, but if you have two of them, you increase your shot that one works out.
November 30, 20187 yr I think the price will ultimately end up being too high because of his name/past pedigree/speed so I see someone else overpaying. However, I wouldn't mind trying him out in CF over Engel and other in house options at this point.
November 30, 20187 yr Platoon them and then you have a great defensive 4th OF on the bench every game.

He made a little less than Avi this year, so that means the Reds didn't want to pay him $6 or $7 million in arbitration. If we have to bid $5 for him instead of $4, is that a huge loss to us?
