Harper would have to take an immense and foolish discount if he wanted to sign with the Cubs on a 4 year deal. No way you can turn down the mega $$$$ generational wealth that your family is being offered. I just do not see that happening, pure speculation.

$160M?!? I don't even think he'd take a 4 year deal at $200M.

Hugely depends on how the next 4 season go though. Injuries can happen, poor performance/regression, etc. No way you can bank on a contact 4 years down the line, take the money when you can get it.

the circled part is the only part you need to copy-paste. you can have the "?ref_src" stuff too but that's just for tracking stuff on twitter's end, you don't need it.

With the chatter changing to "White Sox on outside looking in" and some reports coming out now about Harper preferring other destinations and/or other teams being in the bidding/being favorites my assumption is Harper is looking to get the final best offers from LAD/Cubs/Phillies to see if they can field a competitive offer (compared to the Sox). If so he'll probably sign with one of them. 

I personally really appreciate the push to get all tweets embedded.  I can't access twitter at work, so its a tremendous help, as twitter links are worthless to me.

I have two options when I click the "menu arrow" next to the tweet. Those two options are "Copy Link to Tweet" and "Embed Tweet".  I am choosing the Embed option and then only copying and pasting the part that StrangeSox circled.

To me, these Dodgers leaks are clearly coming from the Boras camp.  Make the White Sox their their offer isn’t good and bid against themselves.

I don't buy the 4-year deal to the Cubs when offer from the Sox and others would most likely contain opt-outs starting at year 4 or 5.

I'm not predicting the White Sox are going to sign either one of these two stars, but would any source tell him (from the White Sox organization) that the White Sox are actually optimistic or in the lead for signing them? In other words, the White Sox may or may not sign Harper/Machado, but the national media expects they're sign with the Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers, or a darkhorse team like the Cubs. Boston would normally be in the mix and teams like Houston/St.Louis probably jump in/out. Teams like the White Sox are never going to be favorites.
