Especially in their own home park.

Maybe that is a way to boost attendance.  Share the stadium in Chicago with the Dodgers too?

Never have I ever been more unenthused for a season as this one. It doesn't even feel like Spring Training is going on.

  • I can confirm it pisses me off seeing Jay on this team.

  • At this point, Moncada is the most important guy to watch.  Glad he's off to a good start.

Collins batting on the stream.

Collins will take his walks.

Moncada without the strikeouts woud be very fun.  I love to see him run.

A hundred k season would be a wild success for Moncada.

I forgot we got Ryan Goins.

If I told you that Nick Madrigal and Yoan Moncada had the same amount of strikeouts today, you would say...

I would say that it’s great to hear Moncada didn’t strike out at all today. Nice!

That is incorrect. They both struck out once.

I know...it was a joke.

Sox lost at Oakland 6-5

Good news from today:  Ruiz, Burr, and Viera all looked good.  Big games for Moncada, Seby.   Bad news: everything else.

Rutherford is lightning. Looks like he could pick up a few infield hits.

Chris Johnson with a 2 run single. 7-6 Dodgers, 2 runners on. Joel Booker at the plate

Bases loaded after Booker is HBP. Jamieson Fisher up now.

Fisher strikes out. Sox lose 7-6.

Looks bigger at the plate....still too slappy though

Any day you can wave two L flags is a prosperous day.  Even on the wrong side of town.

Lol.  Watch the replay again.  The SS took an extra beat or two getting rid of the ball...between a ball hit a bit in the SS/3B hole, a batter getting the advantage out of the LH box and his slightly above average speed surprising the infielder, you have the perfect recipe for an infield hit which won’t happen when scouting reports get out that Rutherford is one step faster than expected coming out of the box.

The Dodgers just have an embarrassment of riches.  The juxtaposition between the two franchises couldn’t be more dramatic.

What?

“No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.”

Just an English major, sometimes teacher...

He was one of those kids who was 6-8 months ahead of the rest of his draft class?

Looked it up.  He was drafted after he had already turned 19, with a May 2nd, 1997 bday.  1st round going on 3 years ago.

Rutherford probably has to hit the weights like Ryan Sweeney should have.  We’ll see what happens.  Kopech could probably destroy him in bench lifting.

I’m lower than most on Rutherford, but let’s give Lisle some time to actually work with him on adding loft.  If he has beefed as was suggested at SoxFest, he’s already solved part of the power problem.

He did this off season.
