Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

  • my only philosophy on baseball (as a young person) is that old players like colome are useless (as are saves, since I am a statnik) and should be force retired. If that's not possible, flipping them i

  • I'd say put a silly value on him and if teams dont meet it just keep him.

Yah, that 60 at bat sample size really tells us all we need to know there.

Hoerner mashed in AA so far. Looks much better than Madrigal

Hoerner and Amaya are interesting. But it's funny, cubs fans absolutely refuse to believe that either of those guys are touchable now that they've built up the tiniest amount of organizational depth.

Hoerner, Amaya, Brailyn Marquez, Happ, Schwarber

Schwarber? Lol.  This FO will not trade him anytime soon or it makes them look like shit.  Schwarber was a terrible pick in hindsight.

Happ and Alzolay from the Cubs. I doubt that they'll trade Hoerner. Alzolay helps now because they can slide him in their rotation and it gives them another arm with upside. Happ gives them a competent 2B and RF.

Happ is awful with a horrible attitude to boot. Pass.

Ian Happ is terrible. I have no idea why some Sox fans want him so badly.

He's like a 2.5 WAR corner OF, there are worse things to get from a 4th overall pick.  That said, no way he should be on the Sox' rader.  We need pitching prospects, not starting corner OF.

That said, I'd rather grab Adonis Medina fron the Phillies. Which other contenders need a closer?

Trade Colome and sign Kimbrel

No thanks.

Especially another butcher with the glove.

I wanna see what we can do with Alex Lange from them. Cubs are much better developing hitting prospects than they are pitchers. Brandon Little is also a nice arm. Both guys former 1st round picks.

Haha. Then trade Kimbrel.

A story in MLB.com said that there were scouts from 5 or 6 teams looking at Colome this week.

Competition is good to drive up the price.  I would think the best offer (if it is a prospect) would be in the 50-100 range

His career WAR is 2.9...he made his debut in 2015.  He was the 4th pick.  That is a suck starting shotgun pick for a FO.

The Braves are a good trade partner for the Sox

I read somewhere it was Phillys, Mets, Cubs, Yanks and a couple others I can't think of.

Nothing Sox fans love more than throwing around Sox-Cubs trades.  There are 28 other clubs, guys.

True but in this case there are Cubs rumors and Cubs obviously need a closer.

Sure, there are also 5-6 other teams that are rumored to be interested.
