Not that we know anything but if we were allowed to choose prep arms I'd, uhh, have preferred Josh Wolf and Allan to Thompson/Dalquist.

When we look back in a couple weeks and see that Allan doesn't sign with them, I think you'll be ok with the Sox haul

  • Lord you can tell some of the newbs here who don't understand how this process works in the draft. Been like this for a while.

  • Bill Melton decides how your name will be pronounced.

@bmags you've been killing it with the draft analysis and profiles (and moderation, I would assume), thank you

Plus you don't get confused about Brendan Malone vs Brenden Milone.

To further confuse things, its Brennan Malone.

I would have rather had Wolf instead of Thompson, but I'm fine with them not picking Allan because he's an extremely tough sign.

Now there's three of them!!!

I knew I probably got both wrong, I just had an idea there were two with names close enough to that haha

I like this strategy for the Sox so far. Infuse some youth into this system. My guess is that they are saving like $500K on Vaughn and maybe another $500K or so on Thompson. Thompson had a down year. He might be under $1.5 million. Good stuff so far.

That would be an ideal scenario. I'd love them to grab another high upside player in the fourth, like Brewer or Doughty

Cubs likely saved a ton of money with their 1st RD pick, I wonder if they go with a HS kid with this kid. Did they save enough to go for Jack Leiter? And can they use their prestige to woo him? Maybe another highly ranked HS kids that's a very tough sign instead.

Pepiot to Dodgers.

The college arms Miller and Cronin still on the board.

Their prestige of developing arms has been absolutely horrific though.

I still feel like Dyson is a White Sox-eque pick if they decide to nab a college arm in the 3rd.

Cubs really have become cheap lately. I'm very good with that

Cubs have taken 2 relievers so far.

Meh, not all that impressed by Dyson

Idk if they're going to go with yet another pitcher. I think they're going for a bat next round.

McAvene is interesting if Cubs can make him a starter.

Cubs pick another bullpen pitcher. Wonder if they'll stretch him out to start

Second highest payroll in baseball...

I feel like the Dodgers have had a real solid draft. They just keep grabbing value that falls to them. Couple that with the development chops they have, and you have a model organization.

If they go pitcher, Erik Miller would be great.

If they go hitter, I'm down for Jerrion Ealy or Chris Newell.

Aw. Brewer to the Stros.

You're probably right but with all the pitching injuries... So far 1 bat and 2 pitchers. Not out of the ordinary to pick another arm.

Damn, Astros got Brewer. Really good pick there.
