  • If the Sox win these last 3 games before the ASB, they will have a better record than the Cubs. With the current make-up of the respective 25 player rosters,  that's stunning. It's also tell

Sox were 7-7 against the Cubs, Twins, Indians, Yankees, and Red Sox in the month of June. It’s not like they’re only beating bad teams at this point, they’re playing toe to toe with likely playoff tea

  • This place is weird. The Sox had a huge day yesterday and the game thread today actually has conversation about the Cubs.

I hope this earns Lopez a Designation for Assignment

Gonna be hard to come back from this. thanks a lot Lopez!

Lopez is terrible.  Way to destroy the momentum.

We haven't done Lopez any favors with our handling of the bullpen in his final innings this year

Don't make excuses for this man. He sucks.

Free Kubat

RR loves to leave his pitchers in one hitter too many...

I guess the story post-game will be that the bullpen phone made Ricky screw this up

We'll cut Lopez at some point and he'll go to the Astros and win a Cy Young

I posted something similar a few weeks ago, but a more progressive organization would know how to tap into Reynaldo’s potential.  Unfortunately he’s completely regressed this year under Cooper.

Lopez has his own problems but Ricky has repeatedly pushed him well past the point where it became clear his effectiveness has been used up. Saw the same thing with Giolito last year

Lol there are 15 other players that should be DFA'd before Lopez

Gym time. Happy Independence Day, everyone.

You can only do so much to help a guy who implodes as suddenly/dramatically as he does, as often as he does.

I couldn't believe no one was warming up in the pen. Now this was a meltdown.

I cannot be the only one who notices that Rey Lopez basically has the exact same outing every time he takes the mound, can I? 3-4 respectable innings before his command just disappears entirely out of the clear blue sky and he becomes a total sh*t show. Winds-up with 5-6 IP 3-5 ER's 3 K's. It feels like that is literally EVERY outing for him.

It’s almost like scouts were right and he’s best suited for the bullpen

This isn't about Lopez, it's about our manager. It's Lopez's fault that at about pitch 95, he was dead meat. It's Ricky's fault he didn't even have someone warming up by then and then left him in at least one batter past the point he was clearly cooked.

Palka worthless

Jesus Palka...

Just go be a bartender and play in a 12 inch league or something.

Okay, Palka’s Sox career should be over soon.

Can't disagree with that

He would look much better with Francona as his manager.  When he starts to lose it he need a fast hook.

The bullpen was used up a lot yesterday in that doubleheader .

Or a team like Astros that tell him only throw his effective pitches instead of pulling a Cooper and trying to make every freaking pitcher the same.
