Ouch..

He should just man up and get one related to every team he plays for in his career.

This trade makes a bit more sense if they're trying to win. Their OF was trash and they just upgraded two positions, and Kluber, Salazar are back soon, and Carrasco should return by the end of the season.

What's the point of the Indians acquiring a rental in Puig?

Reyes is the key of the trade for them mostly, and Allen, for the future.  Meanwhile, both Puig and Reyes will help their awful offense for this year since they are only 2.5 games back.  Don’t they have the worst group of outfielders in baseball?

They're leading the wild card and 2.5 games back of the division. They let the best prospect in the deal go to San Diego in lieu. This isn't them blowing it up but now just about the worst outfield among the playoff teams just got two starters although I guess Franmil would DH

On the flip side of that, Taylor Trammell is listed among the biggest fallers, dropping from 15 to 28 on the list. Here’s what they had to say:

Currently out with a hamstring issue, Trammell has just been so-so in his first taste of Double-A (.245/.366/.333), particularly scuffling in May with a .200/.352/.284 line.

Knew the Padres had to trade someone to break the OF logjam, and they chose to keep Renfroe due to the fact he’s a better defender and flashes a great throwing arm (second most assists).  Reyes is streaky as hell.   Allen was down to their #7 pitching prospect and didn’t show that much in the majors this year when he had the opportunity.

San Diego still has Jankowski (recovering from injury), Cordero, Margot, Myers and Renfroe and Josh Naylor...and have even been trying Mejia out there.

Nobody will take Myers’ contract, need Margot for defense and they desperately needed to add athleticism/speed/range to their outfield.

In the long term, their outfield has to be Renfroe, Myers and Trammell.

Why? Why the hell didn’t sox find a way to get in on this. I’d take Bauer for next year.

Because Kluber, Salazar and Carrasco will all be returning. They have a full rotation with those 3, Clevinger and Bieber. Reyes is a long term piece. Their OF was trash and Puig and Reyes are a huge upgrade there.

Puig and Reyes are below average defenders, Franmil worth 1.2 fWAR last year and 1.4 (heading for 2) this year.

If you judge him solely by OPS and gaudy homer numbers, you’re making a mistake.

Puig 1.8 and 0.9 the last two seasons...but still two upgrades compared to what they were running out there.

The issue is that you have to believe Kluber, Carrasco, Bieber and Clevinger can carry that rotation and stay healthy.  Bauer has the best stuff, but most volatile and self-destructive.  This is all about Francona controlling that clubhouse and not tolerating Bauer’s idiosyncrasies, not after Sunday’s inexplicable meltdown.

Huge is pushing it.  A couple of 1-2 fWAR power hitters with limited defensive skills, especially Reyes...

It's actually not that complex.  They don't want to pay Bauer like 18 mil in arb in the off season and have a staff that will be fine for a push.
