This is fantastic.  Both the pitcher (who I thought was the fourth best FA pitcher available) and the terms.  Starting rotation is now set with vast improvement over last year.  Need to get one right handed bullpen piece and this offseason is a solid B+.

Wonderful terms.

Signed a Boras guy.

Garfein will be happy there's a rotation mentor.

Anyone comparing Keuchel to Buehrle is ridiculous.

Thank God we should never see Dylan Covey start another game for the Sox.  If he does, a disaster has occurred.

We would have to have quite a few injuries. I'm really liking the insurance Hahn and company are doing now. If one of those guys get hurt, you've got Kopech waiting. If another guy gets hurt later than that, you've  got Rodon. I still would like to see one more guy just in case because then you would have ti go into Covey/Detwiler range but that would be splitting hairs since that would be quite a bit of injuries to the staff.

Even if they splurge and sign Castellanos, they will of tremendously improved the team, and while not signing a QO free agent.

I predicted a Boras signing because he wants the Sox as regular bidders. Not many guys sign for nine figures.

"The money will be spent."   Very close for that silliness to be put to rest, right?

Also that the Sox won’t sign Boras clients.  I’m shocked.

Now sign EE or Ozuna and call it an off-season.. well maybe a BP arm as well.

18.5 AAV, I'm ok with this

Yup.  Hair over MadBum, 2 less years.  Perfect for us.

While I would have preferred Ryu, I'm just relived they did something. We have a chance going in to next year. it's been a good while since we could honestly say that.

I will take that. A slight over pay but kept it at 3 years and 4 if he is good. Get a DH and this is a really successful offseason.

Couldn't have worked out better this offseason.

Well, it could’ve if Wheeler accepted.

Keuchel will be interesting.... this is a good thing i suppose

So Michael Scarn was right!?

Maybe. I still wasnt crazy about the years with him.

Should have a nice rangy infield (well at three spots) too to help him out.

I imagine we'll sign EE and a setup guy and call it an offseason.

Also Eno Sarris pretty much nailed it for the Sox. He said Keuchel 4 yr $80M and Gio Gonzalez 1 year $5M.

That’s what I would do.

Agreed.  I also think the Sox chose Keuchel over Ryu due to Ryu‘s age and injury concerns.  They likely didn’t want to invest this type of money in a guy like him.

Nah, keep the 2nd rounder next year. Ozuna ship sailed with Mazara.

Sign a bat, trade Collins for a reliever
