I'd rather have Castellanos as a starting RF than Mazara.   OK bud?

If Castellanos never played for the Cubs would you still want him?

  • If you're planning a starting lineup (even a weak side platoon) that requires moving guys around so that you can get ABs for Adam Engel, you're probably doing something wrong

  • The Sox are gambling on Mazara turning things around. The Rangers were not able to get him to stop chasing balls out of the zone and grounding out.   Grounding into inning killing double plays could g

Ah so the last reason you were just throwing out some BS. Could have just went with that.

You can use the quote button. You said he played a decent RF for the Cubs. What year and in what dimension was that?

Give me Castellanos over Mazara all day.  I’m not sure how this is a controversial thought.

Is this another one of those situations where if you can do a 3/$45 or 4/$56 (and I'm wondering of the market is bottoming a bit out instead of heating up for Ozuna/Castellanos), you do it, and try to flip Mazara or just keep everyone and if some of our kids start hitting now you have pitcher trade chips.  If Castellanos goes nuts and keeps the trajectory going up into a .275/.350 guy with 25-30 HER and 45-50 doubles, I'm ok with him blocking people.  If it's a little less you move him.  Keep signing guys Ricky!

Except it's not one or the other. Hahn's not going to all of a sudden waive Mazara. Only possibility would be if he was included in a package for a guy like Betts (which will also not happen).

Bruce dumped the cold water on the Puig rumors.

Mazara could definitely be moved elsewhere. I’m not saying it will happen but there were other teams interested in him.  The Marlins were interested.  They might be willing to give up a reliever for him.

NO.....NO.....NO Puig please.  Do not cheapen this team with a sideshow like Puig.  Your services are not needed here.

I agree with this guy 1000%. We don't need him; selfish players are a cancer in the clubhouse.

Just give Pillar 1 year/4 million and invest in a good reliever.

Not exciting but I’m fine with this.

LOL at all the condescending comments from everyone towards Bruce on that tweet. People do not respect him at all. Ahahahaha

If you ever listen to his radio show with Spiegel, he is a condescending a-hole so he is getting what he deserves.  He thinks he’s god’s gift to Chicago sports reporting and throws barbs at his co-host if he disagrees with some of the stupid crap he says.

Pillars defensive numbers have tanked. I'd rather just use Engel for the elite defense and solid lefty splits and save the money for something else

I’ve listened to Bruce for years. I honestly think he is like that because everyone gives him a hard time for either being wrong or uninformed , including his colleagues. So he is defensive and tries to over compensate.

I don't know but I kind of want Puig because this team would be so much fun to watch no matter which way it goes.

Pillar is the new Markakis for Sox fans

Not really.  We just know that Engel is bad and would like an upgrade.
