Nope. I feel like he knows somebody though.

At least Bruuuce got to take credit for both of your sources this morning on The Score.  It seemed like he had little to no clue about it when Mulligan brought it up but he played along well.

Welp

Moncada switches agents. Tells new agent he is interested in an extension; Moncada gives a goal number/years. New agent goes to work to see what can happen. He won't circle back with Yoan throughout entirety of negotiations - he'll circle back as the offers become close to what he asked for.

Not saying this means they're for sure negotiating, but Yoan not knowing about the negotiation in detail at this point would not be abnormal by any means.

Would you say this at least indicates that nothing is close?

DVS's tweet would seem to indicate this

Could be true, could be posturing.  Isn't it fairly common to publicly deny negotiations while still ongoing?

It doesn't even seem like he denied, just said he would like to if it works out but his agent is handling it and he's not paying attention right now.

I feel like these new tweets (the Fegan one in particular) aren't promising. The way the have gone out and squashed a lot of rumors this off season seems like they are almost trying not to get the fans hopes up for false things. Fegan, Merkin and even Bruce have been 100% right about things like this.

Ozuna? Squashed directly. Puig? Squashed directly.

Yoan is not going to say oh yeah we’re in negotiations and this is where we are at and the dollar amount and years. That’s just not how it works.

Yeah I'm not sure why anyone would be swayed in either direction by those comments. He can't really answer that question any differently

Yeah, just saw that: Which is pretty standard procedure in these things - especially given the fact that Yoan is currently playing and it's during "season" in a way.

I don't want to speak for every player/agent relationship in these matters, but from the little second hand information I do have, this is typically how the process would work.

Yoan Moncada said he’s not aware of discussions re long term extension. Leaving that to agent. Said he’s very comfortable as a White Sox and envisions being here for long time.
