When both Gios start the year on the IL and Kopech isn't allowed to make the team out of spring training Bassitt would look pretty nice.

Not a surprise that his location is "Downers Grove"!

  • Nicky Delmonico LF/1B Currently making his case for the 26th spot. He has battled adversity and is still standing. Sox may want a lefty on the bench.  Biggest competition? Aj

Anyone putting Bassitt in the rotation over Reylo is crazy, imo. Bassitt is 31 years old and he had one decent season with a 4.4 FIP and 2.1 fWAR. That was in Oakland as well - one of the easiest

I'm really encouraged by the subtle but (hopefully) effective changes Lopez has made to his delivery. That curveball looks nasty

That Adam Engel can really catch a baseball.

What a catch by Engel. If only he could be atleast above-average with the bat.

Nice play to take away a hit there by Engel

Engel > Delmonico

If he could be at least below-average with the bat (rather than one of the worst in the league on that end) I'd love him as a backup. Above-average and you're talking about a starting CF.

He just threw a flat one followed by two filthy ones; but the slider looks better in general. I'd like to see some in the zone swing and misses, but in time that will happen if he maintains the break.

man Collins needs to be better at blocking balls in the dirt, its not his fault but good catchers get on top of those

Been working on pickoffs I see....A's not so much on the baserunning awareness

alright well, i liked what i saw out of Lopez.

Nice way to get out of that. Assuming he's done, that's a fine ST debut

I missed it...did he slow down his arm motion again on that last one Ray?

Engel with the leadoff walk...Man of Steal on the run here?

Nice start for Lopez.  Just keep building.

Twice Madrigal rolled over.  That ain't gonna play, kid.

yea not a good day for him.

Quick overreaction:  Sox should have acquired a veteran middle infielder

Lopez stands to benefit as much as any White Sox starting pitcher from Grandal’s elite pitch framing talent. Over Lopez’s (initial) 3 IP this afternoon, were several close pitches that were called balls (with Collins behind the dish). I have no doubt that Grandal would have (more likely than not) stolen at least 1 or 2 of them, resulting in 1 or 2 less base runners and a lower pitch count.

Nah, even if Madrigal were tearing the cover off the ball, this was/is a real need IMO.

I don't think that's an overreaction.

Totally.  And mentally.  ReyLo is a bit of a headcase out there.  Having someone grabbing him borderline strikes is going to help him quite a bit.

TWTW will break this tie

Mejia looks not great in the two times I've seen him.
