16 teams is definitely too much. 12 makes a lot more sense to me if they were to expand on the old format.

The news came as a surprise within the organization. No player or coach on any team had opted out of the season since Cardinals coach Willie McGee on Aug. 14. The last player to opt out was Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman on Aug. 10. “Driving home last night, Billy (Eppler, the Angels’ general manager) called me, wanted to make sure I was holding onto the wheel properly, and told me the news,” Manager Joe Maddon said during his pregame Zoom session with reporters Tuesday.

Wonder if anyone will bail during the MLB postseason. Boston's starting goalie did in the bubble, though he was facing a much longer stretch in the bubble without family.

This is crazy. Also puts Moncada's struggles into perspective. Hopefully he can rest up and be ready for next year.
