Work the count, take a pitch or two....make him fall behind and get the ball up

  • Get a god damn win

  • Unfortunately the weather goes both ways. Healy probably has a 3 run homer in the 3rd if the ball carried better.

Oh well, can’t win em all.   Keuchel was awesome and the Sox caught a couple of bad breaks.

Mazara looks so bad at the plate.  Almost as if he’s trying too hard to hit the ball in the air.

Almost as if he hadn't been playing due to some virus he caught.

pretty much, they've hit the ball OK, this guy is just dealing and any hard hit ball is being gobbled up.

The dreaded "hang with 'em" Hawkism would be apropos here.

You mean 2 days of strep :)

99.9% nobody is affected, lol.  Fake news.  Hoax.  Pharmaceutical complex conspiracy.

Yeah, but they had to make sure it wasn't covid.

We are in swing mode tonight. Zero patience

Any time I ve seen them take the 1st pitch I know at least 2 that looked low were called strikes. That doesn't help when the ump is giving a sinkerballer the extra low strikes.

Benetti just said that the 5 hardest hit balls in the game were from Sox hitters, and that was before Jimenez lined out.

The 5 hardest hit of the game, yeah. That doesn't necessarily mean those 5 had extremely high EV. There haven't been many hard hit balls all night for either team. Houser is simply pitching his nuts off

Correct, but it goes both ways because Keuchel is a sinkerballer too.

Gamel/Hader=ZZ TOP or 80's Hair Band, we'll go with Poison or Ratt.   Back in high school, they were called "dirtballs," South Wallers (cutting class/smoking) or Trench Coat Mafia.

They've all been >100 MPH. Problem is they're mostly beat into the ground

Hang wiff 'em*

Go 1 more with DK since the bullpen was used heavy last night?

He's throwing strikes and the ump is giving an extra low strike zone. Two sinkerballers makes for a pitchers duel. You can't win if you don't score. Keuchel has been good.

That's what I mean. Once they bounce once or twice they lose steam. From contact to hop #1, yes they're hit hard

Moncada's looked like it was around 100. He murdered that ball.

Dude is at 51 pitches through 5 innings. Just making him work!

The crazy thing is the White Sox already saw Houser in the exhibition game in Summer Camp.

Usually that works to the hitting team's benefit the 2nd time around.

Nicely done Mendick!

Mendick!

He's strike one strike two on everyone. What are they going to do?
