Still the 7-seed, but if it comes down to a 4th tiebreaker scenario, the Sox just clinched it.

Colome did a nice job keeping it tied and getting a W

Wow he's been absolute trash this year.

This was the first time in probably 10 years plus I just knew the White Sox were going to win in the 9th

20-12.  Woof!

And somewhere in Schaumburg Yolmer is cleaning up Gatorade.

With all the runners left on base, this could've easily been an 11-9 win for either team, so I'll take it....just win baby!!!

It needs to be said, but Colome not giving up the extra run after the disaster on the run down and throw away was huge. That would have changed the entire completion of the 9th.

Everyone panicking in the game thread before the bottom of the ninth can eat crow.

The last few seasons the top of the ninth turns into complete disaster. This season, the ball is falling their way and they are just finding ways to redeem mistakes and win. With injuries to other clubs...this is getting real boys.

it was only fitting that Grandal hit that bomb.  fuck extra inning games

Great win. I felt fine after we were able to keep it 5-5 in the 9th. That's the difference when you can score runs. Sox have so many weapons it didn't take long. Those not sure about Grandal are misguided. He's really good and was a great pick-up.

Yeah, that could have snowballed into a much worse inning. By the way, lost in all of this is how Robert played that ball perfectly and made a perfect throw.

Setting the bar low for a closer facing the Royals, aren't we?

Would you have preferred the runner on third to score?

I'd prefer a closer facing a bad team to not be in that position where hes giving up gopher balls to the gap

No. Next question.
