One of the better lineups of the year imo.

  • The guy is on a roll. Why take him out? The Sox have 2 off days this week. I am sure he will be fine.

  • Remember when everyone was worried that RR would continue batting Abreu third in the order this year?

3Ks didn’t help the pitch count but Lucas has it working now.

Gio isn't even pitching that great (by his standards) and he's over here sporting a 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 7 SO line

Another button undone and Eloy hits that out

Then we're arguing some "intangible/immeasurable" quality like clubhouse leadership/guidance/mentoring.    Abreu has definitely improved his defense, but Robert is likely to win the AL Gold Glove in his rookie season.

Imagine the White Sox outfield without Robert out there?

We can easily imagine McCann, Grandal, EE, Collins, Vaughn playing first, otoh.

Dude come on. You're arguing to argue. Your initial post didn't even mention Abreu until you started discussing fwar. The mvp of the team is Abreu and I will bet you $1,000 he finishes higher than Robert in the voting

13 swinging strikes for Giolito so far btw - not bad for four innings lol

Up to 19 swinging strikes now. The Royals are bad but that’s masterful through five innings

Abreu coming into today's game had a +6 DRS rating. And this is coming from someone who has ragged him (and Timmy) on his defense. That alone seals it for me. I expected Robert to be great from day 1.

Let’s say Giolito goes through this inning 1-2-3. What is the max pitch count for him in which  you would bring him back to pitch the 7th?

He Gone!

If he’s under 100.  11 straight retired.

Damnit!  Terrific play.

TA so close to having the web gem there

Should have been JUST OUT by a 1/1000th of a hair.   No review.

Great great attempt by Anderson.

He Gone!

Great outing by Gio. Just what we needed.

Our ace pitches over that shit!

9K through 6 on 97 pitches.  I let Gio start the 7th with the pen warming.

24 swinging strikes in under 100 pitches. Giolito’s Fangraphs page gets sexier by the inning

One more inning from him would be huge for the bullpen.

Agreed. Lets see what ricky thinks...

As dominant as his changeup has been, I’m so happy to see him mix in his slider with such regularity. It’s never going to be Sale’s slider (especially as he isn’t a southpaw) but it’s a phenomenal tertiary pitch and using it early and often makes the changeup all the more effective throughout the game

Bubic hasn’t been bad outside of a few mistakes.
