  • We cant realistically expect to win a game where we are running a pitcher out there who has World Series experience and a 1.99 ERA this season because we are facing Chris Bassit?

  • Giolito struck out 13 A's last year

Hot take.

Do we have any idea of game times yet?

Oakland has been a house of horrors for us. So many heartbreaking losses there, even in 2005. I hope this team is different enough to not have that affect them.

The matchup on paper actually isn't bad for us.

I LOVE this matchup, & going forward to the next series.

Houston nor Minnesota scares me. I wanted ZERO parts of the Indians. We can let that potent Yankees lineup go up against that pitching.

I think even though “the sky is falling” this was the best case scenario.

I’d honestly rather face Oakland than Toronto (as a 1 seed). Toronto’s offense is dangerous.

I feel like we have enough pitching to handle Oakland’s bats and their pitching doesn’t scare me at all.

Sox playing in the house of horror that is the Oakland coliseum. What can possibly go wrong...

Wanted Houston or the A's to give us a shot at advancing and we got it.
Let's see if our bats can go to town on some LHP and then win a pitchers duel in game two.

Win out 2 - 0 and move on.

If it goes to 3 games, we're toast. Round two would take a miracle for us to win a 5 game. Good luck in two 7 game series.
Anything can happen. Expecting the worst and anything else will be gravy.

From best record in AL to #7 seed in a little over a week.  Still and it could be the alcohol talking, but the Athletics seem to be a good draw for us.

5.) Madrigal is magical

6.) Pray that RR puts the best players on the field ( not holding my breath )

7.) Hopefully we have Eloy back

8.) Jose is Jose

9.) Our bullpen should be nails with the top dogs going strong

10.) It's baseball, so why not

Tuesday games in Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and Oakland.  Guessing a late night.

Dallas is a Playoff veteran and Giolito is not. Do you start Dallas in opener or figure their lefty will get hit and start Gio against him and Dallas to follow

Eloy in LF in that stadium

I think Lucas will be fine. If anything I think his first inning struggles have usually happened at home. If he starts the game in the dugout he might not get as amped up.

He's not gonna play LF if he plays. Gotta be at DH.

Time to kick some ass boys!!! World Series here we come!!! When is game 1?

Hope the game is at 1:00 am because they ruined my week. Rickey should report to Glendale.

There's a playoff preview show on MLBN at 8. Maybe they'll have games times by then.

Eloy HAS to DH this series. No excuses. If RR trots out EE out there at DH im going to fucking vomit

I didn't care about the opponent as much tbh, just really wanted the ALC title. That being said I'm still happier we're going against OAK than CLE or MIN. Robert and Moncada looking much more adjusted is only positive. Hopefully Eloy is healthy as well. Let's win 2 straight

It wouldn't be a surprise if we won. I like the matchup but with the days off leading up to the ALDS, I think we need a short leash on SP's. Oakland's bullpen is lights out, so it will be important for us to get early leads.

I would start DK game one. I would also play Garcia in LF if healthy, Engel in CF, and Robert in RF while Eloy DH's.

EE single handedly handcuffed Abreu in the Cubs series by batting right behind him. I don't want to see Edwin in the postseason unless he's pinch hitting against someone throwing below 90.
