If so, it's not going to be from the Sox. 

Lucas is the one pitcher that I think the Sox might pony up for.  Probably not, but he looks so solid now....almost a guaranteed Ace for a few years.

He could even exceed that if he's healthy if/when he hits FA. Hopefully an extension is announced within the next few days.

There's top 3 pitcher in the world ability with him. If he keeps improving and stays healthy, a Gerrit Cole type contract isn't unrealistic for him when he's a FA. The Sox need to extend now if it's at all possible.

Betting sites agree with you. Cole, Bieber, & Gio all have similarly low odds at around 4/1 and then there's a large drop off to the next tier of AL pitchers.
