I hope if he’s out of gas, he tells Tony

The next pitcher to tell a manager he's out of gas will be the first.

That’s a massive difference

not when the average manger is about 4 so the difference between any manager is 1-3.

Mize is leaving the ball up. Not sure why he came back out this inning.

horrible AB

why is he chasing there?

Did Abreu lose it over the winter?

didn't they come off a series where they used a lot of relief pitchers?

He isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore.

Aren’t Cuban years kinda like dog years?

Not sure - they had the off day yesterday

Say what you want about Lamb, at least he doesn’t help the pitcher out

Tigers probably more concerned with getting Mize innings than pulling him early due to ineffectiveness

Shadows affecting the hitters.

Not a professional at-bat by Abreu to leave Moncada still at second.

I think he lost his security blanket in Jimenez. He is trying to carrying the team as he did prior to last year.

Losing it doesn't entail chasing pitches.

The good news about Abreu grounding out after a double is that Robert is up!

Oh fuck no wait it's Lamb

Way to go, Tony!

I know, that's why I asked.

In any event, this shouldn't be coming from the #1 Abreu hater on the board.

He was at 70 pitches. Hinch probably doesn't really care if they win or lose since they aren't winning anything anytime soon. Gotta let your developing pitchers pitch.

Not sure what Lamb was looking for, but the shadows will be the reason...

It was a good pitch that came back over the inside corner. Saw it as a ball all the way.

Those were some very long swings by Vaughn

Mize is much tougher on RH.

Ok guess I misread Mize there.

People got pretty butthurt when I suggested Abreu was cheating on fastballs most of last year and that the league had the book on him now.  Well, after rolling over on yet another pitch maybe some will come around to my POV.  I hope he manages to be a 2 WAR hitter this year, that's really my only hope.

That's still a pretty huge difference. That is going from an average player to an All-star. That is going from Eloy to Leury/Engel/Hamilton for a season.
