  • All the hand wringing about Moncada and he's the only player not named Mercedes in the top 20 position players in fWAR. Dude's been a stud lately.

Balls that slice away from you in center for a non center fielder are really weird. You do not see many of them. That's why you don't just put people out in CF

Typically the easier part of center is you don't deal with much slice and your reads are true

Yermin sees the ball so well it's absolutely insane

That's just a natural ability that most don't have

His first home run is the most impressive to me. He has 2 strikes, so he completely ditches his big leg kick in order to make better contact. He's so strong that he hit it out without loading up on his front foot. It's so impressive.

Yikes

Vaughn got himself out that AB.

This might be a rough night for Vaughn, after building on his success lately.

so yeah.. maybe no vaughn against bieber... that was horrible.

I am not sure how you swing at the same exact pitch 3 times in a row when it wasn't close

That's where you see stuff you didn't in A-ball or college

He was clearly fooled.

Don't let him do you like that AV.

In his next at bat he will not swing at a slider low and away. I have a ton of faith in that. Kid learns so quick and understands hitting.

Got to give him time to adjust.

I'm sure they all look like fastballs to him.

Lol so no ta, Eaton, or yoan either? I'd bet a lot fo money Vaughn does not chase a slider next ab.

Nice r rated ads tonight.

Vaughn has probably never seen a slider like that. ?

Part of the learning curve.  He’ll be fine.  He’ll make the adjustment.  The good ones always do.

Guys don't have that type of command your entire life. Guys can't triple you up with a slider like that in the same spot at every other level. Vaughn  will adjust. He always does.

Way too many walks tonight

His two strike approach shows how advanced he is as a hitter.

I love how vs some some shit pitchers that he's seeing the ball great against he leg kicks with two strikes. It's really offensive to the pitcher and I absolutely enjoy it. Can't remember who it was against but it happened this year. He was seeing it great and didn't ditch it with two strikes and crushed the ball
