They could have gotten a ransom for LeBron, fortune for AD (you have to consider injuries), and maybe some second rounders for Melo, Dwight, and Jordan.

The incentive is a title. Clearly they did not have a good plan coming into this season and counted on Russ to be old Russ, but the title is the reason always. They don't care what happens after if they get the title

If LeBron doesn't like it, its only a matter of time before the next guy is there.

If he wasn't as effective, DeMar would have gotten doubled a hell of a lot more. And he was already getting doubled a ton, especially tonight.
