Maybe we can get some updated "top 5 payroll in November" updates after all these players sign.

Oh come on man

I'm not saying they have to get both, just one. If they won't even shop at a mid priced store, they're clearly not interested in winning championships.

Isn't Scherzer supposed to be down to the 2 LA teams and the Mets, and the the LA teams wont give him a  3rd year? If this is about money/years, then he's probably going to be a Met.

It still seems crazy to me that Cohen would push a $300M luxury tax payroll, but who the fucks knows at this point.

Why concern ourselves with SP when we are trying to lock down Leury first?

There seemingly haven’t been that many Robbie Ray rumors so maybe he really is the pitcher the Sox are going after.

I think they’re going to trade for pitching after the lockout is over

I mean, if Scherzer is indeed out for the Sox - our options are getting very limited in all 3 positions that needed to be filled by impact players.

We have no idea what their plan is, so going bonkers over every FA that signs elsewhere is going to get old.

Imagine having Cohen as the owner. What a dream. Anybody that says they wouldn't want him as the owner is just a douchebag.

Don't come at me like that, Ron!

The options are already limited.

Trade for pitching, trade for Segura, sign a RF and a backup catcher

Your guy Harold told us the Sox were going to be in on Scherzer and spend like a big market team.

Kind of running out of options to do any of those things.

Sox going to end up with Danny Duff, Jonathan Villar, and Eddie Rosario.

He also said if the Mets got involved it was bad news.

That's the on-the-cheap approach.
And with the #30 farm system, they will either have to trade off of the ML roster, or give 2x the number of prospects as they are currently at their low value. Maybe he can finesse Kimbrel into a starter, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh, so if a team who was willing to spend got involved the Sox would be out and not act like a big market contending team. Got it... so same old White Sox?

Just kind of funny everyone wants a major move and then given the Sox history, it’s likely that player underperforms and we all despise him. Conforto is definitely someone that many would easily hate.

Fathom, I’m sorry but it is your fault somebody else said something.

There’s being a big market team and then spending crazy money.  If Mets want to give him 4/180, then no one is topping that.

Maybe but the nice thing with Conforto is he is here to provide the RHP balance, people wouldn’t need him to be a super star. This team really just needed to balance out some weaknesses, which you can do with brute force like signing a Semien, but there are other ways out of this.

Seems like another White Sox outspent excuse. Also, I don't see 4/180 coming in. I'd guess he's got about 3/120 on the table right now.

Just wait until the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Padres and Mariners start spending this offseason.

I don’t get why people would hate Conforto, but you’ve said this before.  Care to elaborate?  He’s not the three outcome hitter that Sox typically despises.

Here's hoping the Sox are in the mix on Ray. I sure do like him. Tight pants and all.
