I was hoping he was holding a 3rd pitch back for later but he’s only going 3-4 and definitely needed more variation this inning.

I thought that too. Guess we'll see next inning if he throws it, but I doubt he'll go more than 3 today.

Getting a late start on the season I'm sure they just want him to establish some kind of command on the fastball 1st and foremost. He can't be successful until he does that or else you will be seeing a lot of early exits .

Did Kopech throw more than 50 pitches in ST?
