I hate Keuchel but he really hasn't been all that bad this year, the one start against Cleveland wasn't really his fault, even though he got tagged for 7 ER.

Why is Abreu the only one who doesn't get rest and he has been by far the worst?

Now I see why you like Tony. Leury Garcia hitting 2nd. some dude named "Roberts" hitting 3rd , and some dude named "Pollack" hitting 8th.

Yoan gets a meatball high sinker and pounds it into the ground.

He has hit a couple balls fairly hard but they've all been into the shift

Jerry's wallet is also in play and that supersedes Rick's ego.

DFAing Keuchel means he needs to pay his full 2022 salary even faster...hence a big no go.

Nobody in their right mind would claim him.  A desperate contending team might offer to take him if the White Sox paid almost 80-85%.

Wouldn't count on that, though.

Foster getting hit a lot harder as of late.

Leury's ball won't be caught next year with that particular shift disallowed.

Do you think Keuchel would be petty enough to file a grievance if he doesn't get to 160 IP this year?

.900 xBA on that one. It's tough being a lefty pull hitter these days.

I can see it if he actually pitches ok. Like ERA around 4 to 4.5.

I think it’ll be tough for him to hit that 160 even if he stays on the roster all year.

Absolutely.

Getting to face a mediocre pitcher like Keller for the 4th time is such a gift. Do some damage here, Yoan.

TLR cooled him off

I'd.....consider Foster for two if he gets Witt with no issue.

Plus the data supports him being a 5 inning pitcher at this point in his career.

Foster, English for relief.

He barely got there last season and Tony was still treating him like a pitcher who could go through a lineup 3 times. He's been managed more conservatively this season. He could stay in the rotation all year and he won't reach 160 IP.

Yaz has gotten Sox pitchers a favorable zone all night

No grounds to win it so why bother ?

Foster gets the job done.

And the KC lineup was really hot this past weekend against Colorado. Had a decent 4-5 road trip averaging 5.73 runs per game.

That's why I said that it would be petty. The data supports Keuchel being a 5 inning pitcher at this point in his career.

Graveman in the 8th, then Liam to close.  Lets not get cute, the Sox need a W.

If he keeps his ERA down in the 4.50-4.75 range...obviously depends on how other pitchers do, but there's not much beyond Martin in the high minors.

Abreu real good AB there

hopefully Yaz goes yard again

This should have been a night to rest the A relievers. Too bad the offense can't ever do more than the bare minimum.
