Jessie Plemmons with some really poor luck that inning partially erased by his own play on the swinging bunt.

  • Typing and throwing a baseball are different levels of strenuous activity, yes.

  • Lol for fucks sake we need a new hitting coach in the worst way. Everyone’s approach is god awful.

I thought catchers weren't allowed to block the plate like that.

The catcher is not permitted to block the runner's path to the plate unless he is in possession of the ball, though blocking the path of the runner in a legitimate attempt to receive a throw is not considered a violation. The runner can be ruled safe if the umpire determines the catcher violated this rule.

Wonder why they won't start Rodon on regular rest for Desclafini on Sunday...going with bullpen/AAA starter instead.

I see why every wanted Joc on our team, he would fit right in

Hahn was worried his offense would help too much

That play/call looks very familiar in SF with Flowers and the Posey rule.

Probably some kind of innings management. They've kept him healthy thus far.

Yeah.  Good fortune to avoid him if they can end up sweeping the Giants going into a crucial series with the Twins Monday.

Just noticed Damion Lee left the Warriors 90 minutes after his first pitch yesterday, haha.

Cease with 81 pitches through 4. He has to improve on this. A quality starter has to give you 7 innings pretty consistently.

The BP will have to cover at least 4 innings today which is not good.

Zavala with the Tony Gwynn serve into LCF.

Cease looks like he's going 5 again unless he works extremely fast as the order flips a third time through.

In this day and age, at least six.

Anything less and you're exposing your bullpen...especially without Hendriks and Bummer.

Cease looks like freddy mercury :)

Big RF but CF is short.

Didn't Liam claim he would be back around July 1st at one point?

That always seemed awfully optimistic.

Ball definitely hasn't been carrying well so far this series.

Except for the Sheets ball with all the underspin...but that was under the wind.

Cease continues to maintain that highest whiff rate in baseball on the slider...

Who will be the first out of the pen today?

Foster or Ruiz?

Banks?  Aiyo.

Edited by caulfield12

Doesn't seem like they can get lucky with Banks two consecutive days...but TLR seems likely to try his luck.

Belt/Yaz next.

No way Burger makes that play to the backhand...or makes that off balance sidearm flip throw.

Liam is healthy enough to tweet.

Big decision coming up if he loses Belt.

The one way a Sox player hasn't gotten hurt yet this season...

Great job by Cease.

Just wonder how long he can hold together physically with that much torque on all those sliders...seems to know this is his last hitter.

New hitting coach and manager would go a long way toward injecting some new energy and much improved approach. The launch angle / lack of it from this squad is a true signing that stuff is so far off.

I see Laurence Holmes is doing pre and post today. He's always hard on TLR on his radio show (rightfully so). I wonder if he has to hold back a bit on pre and post.

Please tell me who these quality starter who consistent go 7 innings are ? How many do you actually think there are ? And how often is consistently, 1/3 of all starts or more ?

I'll take 5 innings of 1 run pitching any time.

If the White Sox do fall out of this...they really need to protect Cease and Kopech at all costs.

Seven consecutive 100+ pitch starts doesn't usually end well.
