Makes you wonder what they're doing with Crochet next year.

That's a good point. He also has a team option for 2024, fwiw.

No running game in this inning another double play.  Had 2 fast runners on base, no hit and runs or steal attempts against a ground ball pitcher.  Might as well had Romy bunt instead and have a man on second.  TLR not aggressive today.

Diekman not able to get lefties out...awesome.

Diekman has been awful vs lefties lately

He gave up 2 homers on hanging sliders against the last 2 lefties he faced. I guess a walk is better than that.

3.5 mill in 2023 for Diekman and a 4 mill option for 2024

I think they are still hoping Crochet is a starter but he'd have limited innings next season I would think.

Is it just me or is Diekman not getting set?

Of course Diekman handles Bregman no problem lol

That guy who tells Tony what to do had other plans tonight.

Now watch him walk Tucker.

This sucks, we lead the world in key double plays

We seldom hit and run or try to steal, and we are a Groundball city team, you figure it is a formula for double play city as well.  We make no adjustments.

"TONY RUN ENGEL!" would have been good advice again tonight.

Let's see if the offense can do it again, eh? Nice inning from Diekman.

WIN. THIS. GAME.

How about some more 8th inning magic.

Diekman looks like a homeless Chris Sale

Put on your rally caps

This.

It might just be a small sample thing, but Diekman's walk rate with the Sox is 10%. That's tolerable given how good his stuff is.

He’s a lefty and I haven’t ever seen him and Sale in the same room. You can’t convince me otherwise
