Lame.

Do both teams get an additional pitcher on the roster tomorrow, which would be especially handy since Hanser is on the DL??

This is a lot better than making people wait 2 1/2 hours yesterday and then playing in the same or worse conditions than the conditions you waited out.

Well...at least the Sox can't lose today!

Yes, the question is will JR pop for one?

Yes, but they will have to arrange for their own transportation.

Three games in about 25 hours time. Go bullpen!!

Phillies pitching has been just as dreadful as the Sox, fwiw.

If this year’s Sox team is anything like previous years’ teams, I the Sox offense will cure them.

I've had sharts more pleasant than the start of this season.

This was surely inspirational about the next "wave" of Sox pitchers at Charlotte (especially Cronin's ERA despite great stuff line)... from Scott Merkin's "Sox Beat" column

"CHICAGO – The goals for Davis Martin, Lane Ramsey and Declan Cronin remain the same: Reach the Major Leagues and help the White Sox win a World Series championship.

But if they can reach those goals together? Well, then all the better. It seems only fitting considering they’ve been together for much of their Minor League careers.

Martin, 26, was selected by the White Sox in the 14th round of the 2018 Draft, and Ramsey, 26, was taken in the 23rd round. Cronin, 25, arrived one year later in the 36th round.

They are currently part of Triple-A Charlotte’s pitching staff. They also lived together during February and March near Camelback Ranch, where they took part in in their first big league Spring Training.

“I always do everything backwards; it’s hilarious,” said Martin -- who made 14 appearances, of which nine were starts, for the 2022 White Sox -- during an interview in Arizona. “It’s cool because it’s a new experience. Different than anything I’ve ever experienced before.”

“It’s very funny,” Cronin said. “He had been in the Chicago clubhouse but not in Glendale.”

Through 15 games at Charlotte, Martin has made three starts and posted a 2.81 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 16 innings, including 11 strikeouts in his April 14 start. He would be next up for the White Sox if a starter is needed.

Ramsey has a 3.00 ERA and two saves in six appearances, while Cronin has an 8.22 ERA in six games but is considered a pitcher with strong overall stuff.

The trio of pitchers worked diligently to improve this spring but also had fun, from early morning jumps into the cold pool at the rental house to spirited games of pool to visits to a local all-you-can-eat sushi place. Now, the collective and individual focus falls upon continued development on the road to the Majors -- though they each would probably end up in their own place if that dream was fulfilled.

“I would imagine we would be at each other’s [residences], try to be next door neighbors. It’s definitely exciting times for us,” Ramsey said. “Exactly, all three being in Chicago. I feel very confident that will happen this year.”

Are they still playing little league double headers this year?

No,  they didn't last year either.

Didn’t they announce the delayed start time hours in advance?

I think MLB makes this call now.

No. I believe it was about 12:15 when they put the delay on. It didn't rain from that time until game past a drizzle here or there.

Get the first one, and I feel decent about the 2nd with the lefty in Falter going in the nightcap.

Things looks a whole lot brighter with a DH sweep today.  Alternatively, things look a whole lot more bleak with a bad showing today.  About as big of a day as you can find in April, honestly.  Hope the boys come to play.

Curious who the 26th man will be - options on the 40 man include Martin, Scholtens, German, Alexy and Padilla.  Martin threw 6 innings on Friday, so would be on short rest but is probably the favorite to get the call to give some length.  Sholtens threw 6 innings Sat, so is probably out.  Both German and Padilla threw an inning on Sunday so should be available but cannot give length.  Alexy has 10 walks in 2 1/3 innings so probably isn't an option, though he'd fit right in!

Wheeler vs White Sox

4 ER, 12.1 IP, 2.98 ERA

Lynn vs Phillies

5 ER, 19 IP, 2.37 ERA

Small Sample Sizes, can't really project those numbers out based on how each team has done so far this year.

I picked Trea Turner in a home run pool coming off the excitement of the WBC (it hapens to the best of us) and he hasn't scratched yet.  I'm hoping the Sox find his home run swing.  I'm looking for 3 from you the next couple days, Trea!
