Grifol managed well. Remillard helps win again

Except maybe leaving Lynn one batter too long with 105 pitches.

Tim should been placed on the IL on Monday, this latest scheme to play him at 2B is ludicrous. He can barely field SS at this stage after playing there his entire career. It's not like they need

Interesting how there's no longer a bunch of chatter about how he's a fat lazy slob who kicks puppies for entertainment and probably doesn't even like baseball.

No one wants to hear it when a pitcher is getting shelled, but Lynn's underlying metrics didn't indicate he was ever cooked. This wasn't a Keuchel situation.

Zach and Kelly, a winning combo.

These guys still can’t separate from other teams. Every run is so critical.

Play Remillard, he is better at every aspect of baseball than this injured version of Tim.

Tim's shoulder is really bothering him. He can't pull anything through the left side of the infield and has power. Yes, TA should be on the IL and Remillard should be playing.  Remillard helped get the win today. He can do it again.

Sox will improve once Grandal is gone, he turns a walk into a triple, is no longer even a below average catcher at this point. Zavala has a .189 OBP in half the PAs and is still there with Grandal in fWAR (0.2 vs. 0.1).

Perez is sadly not a catcher either. They need to get a veteran that can manage a pitching staff and is a major league quality catcher.

If I can read your mind, they would have been better off staying with James McCann when they had him.  No?

They would be better off developing their own catcher internally at least once a generation of players...

He was a great pickup, worked his ass off preparing personally and preparing pitchers more the Cooper.

Wouldn’t have matched the Mets contract, would continue to go for $2M-$5M acquisitions. McGwire and Collins would have been fine.

Agree with Caulfield internal development is the best route. They gave up on Narvaez too soon. What the hell did they need to flip for yet another closer while tanking? And then Hahn signs Herrera for $17M a few weeks after this trade. Also pissed away $14M on juicer Wellington Castillo while tanking, and then $73M on another juicer catcher.

Truly WTF territory.

@2Deep not sure if you are aware since this is your first game thread but since the Sox won you get to start the next thread as well.

You are right. Sox did not really need Grandal.  Should have spent that money on a power hitting outfielder Instead.  Another Hahn screw up, which he repeated trading for Kimbrel, when we  did not need a closer but needed a 2B and a RF instead.
