Bibee has better stuff than any of the Sox starters

Meanwhile best Sox second round pitcher goes back to 1970 in Terry Forster.

Cease hasn't missed a turn through the rotation since debuting in the majors. We complain about injuries all of the time, but Cease is as dependable as they come. For that reason alone don't think WAR

Syndergaard won't start until Monday.

Mini start tmrw on the side.

Poor Yoan, that’s gone a few years ago before he lost all his power

They're gonna pay that guy $25M next year.  Good lord

93 mph from Cease. WTF.

He injured?

$29M if you include his buyout.

He’s lost all of his ability.  It’s one of the weirder things I’ve seen

I really thought he was gonna be a Jose Ramirez clone.

This is a guy that used to hit 115 mph HRs and stole 40 bags in AA.

He's one of Baseball's greatest enigmas.

Lynn's made me puke, Vaughn's LMAO

White Sox Bizzarro World - Current Team replaced by Baseball Reference Similarity Scores

Lineup

  1. Johnny Lindell (BenintendI)
  2. Jorge Polanco (Anderson)
  3. Miguel Andujar (Robert Jr.)
  4. Mark Quinn (Jimenez)
  5. Yangervis Solarte (Moncada)
  6. Todd Hundley (Grandal)

Bench

  1. Josh Naylor (Vaughn)
  2. Royce Clayton (Andrus)
  3. Dwight Smith Jr. (Sheets)

Rotation

  1. Jack Flaherty (Cease)
  2. Jack McDowell (Lynn)
  3. Keegan Thompson (Kopech)
  4. Luis Severino (Clevinger)
  5. Justin Lehr (Toussaint)

Bullpen

  1. Mel Rojas (Hendriks)
  2. Tim Stauffer (Graveman)
  3. Yusmeiro Petit (Kelly)
  4. J. B. Wendelken (Middleton)
  5. Scott Alexander (Bummer)

Not enough MLB playing time at this stage of career to produce a similarity score:

Banks, Burger, Colas, Crochet, Lambert, Padilla, Peralta, Remillard, Santos, Scholtens, Zavala.

Not that they'd do it, but in a sane organization Vaughn would be a non-tender candidate, right?

DOUBLE BURGER WITH CHEESE!!

Burger!

Jake Burger likes the game of baseball, Yoan.........maybe not so much.

It’s so frustrating to see Cleveland develop great pitchers year after year while the Sox…well, not so much.

Burger wants to drive up his value to get the f*** out of here too.

Burger's raw power is incredible. The ball just explodes off his bat.

Moncada peaked with the moonshot off Strasburg in 2019.

I will be stunned if they trade him

Similar Batters through 27

  1. Howard Johnson (952.7)
  2. Mike Moustakas (946.7)
  3. Sal Bando (944.6)
  4. Tim Wallach (942.7)
  5. Kyle Seager (942.0)
  6. Ryan McMahon (941.3)
  7. Wilmer Flores (940.1)
  8. Doug Rader (938.8)
  9. Grady Hatton (938.4)
  10. Edwin Encarnación (937.1)

I'm well aware, I haven't thought that in a while. I accepted he wasn't that good in 2021 but thought he could still be slightly overpaid until this year. 2022+2023 led me to finally give up on him as a hitter.

Moustakas had more power than Yoan does now but is otherwise a very good comparison as a player and highly ranked prospect.

If the plan is to slash payroll while attempting to compete, this team needs viable big leaguers who are playing for cheap. Trading Burger doesn't make sense for a variety of reasons

Jake Burger is the only Sox player that is fun to watch.

Benetti and Stone just said he’s a core guy

Yeah, think of the marketing. He's one of like 3 players Sox fans even liket. "Kids, it's Nicholas Padilla Bobblehead night. Get there early and run the bases with Jesse Scholtens."
