Good, so can we move on from the bust Vaughn and put Burger at 1B?

    The Sox are not moving.

or they're showing teams he can pitch effectively in back to back games.

Cease hasn't missed a turn through the rotation since debuting in the majors. We complain about injuries all of the time, but Cease is as dependable as they come. For that reason alone don't think WAR

Ride that hot streak Burger

Let him play 2B until he proves he can’t.

There is always a possibility Moncada moves back to 2B. He supposedly isn't opposed. But they would wait until the offseason. 2B might be a little easier on his back.

Well now is as good of a time as any to conduct that experiment.

I wonder what his fielding metrics look like when there's a big enough sample size.

Burger is basically HR or K though.

I'm of this opinion myself. We're not playing for the postseason here, let him play 2nd, see if it works or what.

I'll be curious to see those too.  To this point he's made the routine plays, but I haven't seen him be really tested by anything either.

Yup.  He'll smash mistakes but not much else.

DJ says Colas continuously overthrows his first cutoff man, team needs to work on it.

Luis Robert shouldn't be taken for granted

He looks like he's about to go into a funk though.

Will be interesting to see what his final numbers look like this year.

I think that's the correct way to play it but also speaks to how bleak things are someone with a .272 OBP and negative defensive value is considered a core guy

I’m fine with that at 2B

It would be pretty wild if that’s a wrap on Dylan Cease with the Sox.

I’ve yet to hear anyone with the Sox have good things to say about him

Looks like Aaron Bummer is the one pitcher they're sure they're not trading. He's pitching like every day suddenly.

Would actually be nice, tbh.

Anderson, Benintendi, Burger, Jimenez, Moncada and Vaughn can all have good seasons next year.

Ditto Bummer, Cease, Graveman, Hendriks, Middleton and Santos.

Problem is they have little depth, need crazy lottery type years out of several of their other players to make a difference: Banks, Colas, Crochet, Gonzalez, Lambert, Perez, Remillard, Scholtens and Sosa.

There aren't many good FA options for the positions in need, even if Jerry was willing to open the pocketbook, and they will likely significantly lower payroll the next two seasons as contracts drop off.

Hi Rick, nice to see you drop in.

He’s going to be fired the second the season ends

Pedro Grifol is signed to a multi year deal. You really think JR is going to pay another manager to sit at home?

Another game Vaughn is out, another game Sheets isn’t playing 1B.
