I begged the Front office not to give up and engage in a fire sale. I was certain we could still pull this out. However, they refused to listen to me and this is what we get. Such a frustrating situation

  • like it's all the bad of 2017 without the fun of having 3 garcias in the outfield.

  • I just don't know how you can look at the lifeless "core" of this team and not blow the entire thing up -- manager, players, front office, development staff.  They are non-competitive to the core.

  • Yep, there’s really no hope.  They desperately need a new front office that will look at things more realistically.  The fact Vaughn was untouchable is one of the saddest things I’ve heard.

I hope they lose 107 games as that would be the new White Sox record breaking the 106 loss season from 1970.

That team was more fun to watch than this bunch.

Yeah, at least we had young guys like Melton, May and Herrmann to  look forward to.

Those 3 you mentioned all had very good years and Luis Aparicio had his highest BA in his career at .313 winding up 4th in the AL in hitting.
It’s the pitching that was really bad in 1970, last in the AL with a 4.54 ERA.

Texas drew 29,804 in a mid-week day game with fans having to go out in 104F weather to get there.

I don't see the Sox drawing that many in any remaining game, with the Yankees a weeknight series. Would say a big influx of fans from Milwaukee is their best chance to break the 30K threshold.

Its 72 under the dome

You're right and the -305 for the moneyline win for the Rangers was the highest negative number this year.

No surprise here.  The Sox sucked earlier in the season and now they suck even more after the trades.

A combined 42 home runs for the entire lineup. This is embarrassing.

Particularly when you are playing in a homer friendly park, and then you trade your second most prolific slugger.

lol Eloy grimacing after running down to first base, im so sick of him. Injury #40

Might as well have him jog to first base or even walk to first on sure outs.  Hope for a few homers.

Lol, Merkin really stretching to find anything worthwhile to write about, concerning the Sox. I can't believe this is a real article title on mlb.com:

"Thompson hopes to bring veteran leadership, invokes Abreu in return"

Tanner became Manager in '71.  Forster came up in '71, and Gossage in '72.  Dick Allen was acquired in '72.

But yeah, good times and great memories.
