Ky Bush pitching today for Birmingham and should be Jake Eder tomorrow.

It is pretty nice that virtually everyday Birmingham has a decent prospect pitching.

In the DSL, two homers for Mogollon.  At 17 years old, is it time to get a little excited?  K rate at around 15% and walks about equal Ks.  .314/ .414/ .967. Maybe comes to ACL next year?

For the Barons you've got Nastrini, Mena, Cannon, Bush, Thompson and Kelley working on piggybacking.

That's pretty fun.

As for Mogollon, let's get on the hype train.

Badler keeping tabs too.

Nishida assigned to Kannapolis today.

Time for me to watch the minors again. Nice that MiLB is included with MLB.tv now.

Carela should be joining the Birmingham crew pretty soon too i bet...so someone is gonna have to move up to AAA....maybe Nastrini?

Holy smokes

Three strikeouts and a walk in the first for Pallete.

Mags, what if you took a high school All-American all-star team and sent them to the DR for 3 months.  I think they would dominate over there.

Interesting second inning. No strikeouts from Pallete. Fly out followed by a single and double error on the LF which advanced the runner to 3rd. Then a fly out and throw the runner out at home from CF to end the inning.

Pallette almost got let down by his defense when two consecutive errors let a 1 out single reach 3rd...but then an excellent throw on a would be sac fly cut down the runner at the plate to end the inning.

Over in WS, my personal sleeper SP prospect Mason Adams just struck out the side in the 2nd. All swinging.

Adrian Gil is another 17 yr old whose BA and OBP is higher than Mongollon's  while slugging is slightly less. .331 .472  .472  .944 Gil 16 days younger than Mongollon and both from Venezuela. 6' 193 2nd base. RH

The 2 HR's by Mongollon gives him 8 on the season. Badlers Tweet said 6 but that was from 2 days ago so didnt count the 2 today.

Quick 1-2-3 for Bush. Weak foul pop, K, grounder to 3B.

Colson with a hustle double on a liner to RF in his first at bat.

DJ hits ANOTHER HR. 4th in 4 games.

Harris looks the part at the plate at least, so far.

Popeye gets the Barons on the board by being a menace on the basepaths. Single on a liner to LF, strolls into second for a steal, dodges the tag to steal third on a much closer play, and then scores on a FC grounder up the 1B line by beating out the throw home.

Jacob Gonzalez first home run. 106 off the bat, 395'. 3-0 Cannonballers.

Nice to see a so far/so good start for Bush

The HR confirms my thoughts about him pulling the ball more. His swing to LF reminds me of Robin Ventura, it's unnatural and awkward.  I believe, like Ventura, maybe he's better off goin LCF to dead pull and give up trying to go the other way.

Montgomery triples and scores when a shallow fly from Ramos finds grass.

Gonzalez hits into a DP but it was a one hop rocket to 1b.  He looks so much better when he pulls the ball.
