Even if you want to call his performance "hindsight" it isn't to hindsight to say that no one wanted him at the deadline last year, nor did they all winter long. It was a stupid move that wasn't worth the upside.

I was hoping to see him pitch well so we would finally have the unquestionable answer on why no one traded for him last year, since no one could blame his contract this year. Oh, his time will come. Sox are set to trade or DFA about half of the 40 man by September. They may break the all time record for most guys on the 26 man roster.

If the Sox were looking for a pitcher they could flip with value, they should have signed someone of value.
May 28, 20241 yr Seems pretty obvious to me they signed Clevinger to try and salvage an atrocious start. He was available to all other teams for little commitment and no one wanted him.
