  • You think Chris Getz made this pick? I know you like to whine about everything, but this ain't it.

There is not a more white sox name than Mike Sirota. Mike Sirotka -> Mike Soroka -> Mike Sirota???

  • Two of the injuries were fractures of the hamate on each hand. On the plus side he doesn't have anymore hamate bones to fracture so maybe he's done with them. ?

Marlins just drafted a guy named Fenwick Trimble.  I know nothing about him except his name but I'm willing to bet he has asked someone "Do you know who my father is?" at some point in his life.

Nick Mitchell goes to Toronto.  WIU transfer to Indiana.  Adam Eaton comp

2 college seniors picked in the first 3 picks of the 5th.

299. Sam Antonacci
3B

Ht: 6'0" | Wt: 185 | B-T: L-R

School: Coastal Carolina Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.5
Antonacci ranked as the No. 316 player in the 2023 class after a monster season with Heartland (Ill.) JC. Despite drawing draft interest at the time, Antonacci went to Coastal Carolina for his first taste of D-I baseball where he continued to show the same high average and excellent on-base skills he showed at the junior college level. The 6-foot, 193-pound third baseman was hitting .406/.571/.534 with a 19.6% walk rate through his first 37 games and rarely expands the zone or swings and misses in general. His 93% in-zone contact rate is a standout metric, but he might be reliant on a savvy eye and excellent contact skills to drive an offensive profile that lacks power. To that end, Antonacci might be better served at second base instead of a corner in pro ball, where he can play up the middle and have less pressure to hit for power. He previously played shortstop, but has been Coastal’s everyday third baseman in 2024. He could fit as a day two draft prospect for teams that prioritize his bat-to-ball skills and swing decisions.

Sam Antonacci.  Ha!  He was at Heartland CC in Bloomington.  Future 3B but he has feel to hit and can run a little.

I like that writeup.

Think more of a 2B and leadoff hitter with his lack of power but high OBP

Moar slappy hitting 2B.

Looks like a nice OBP/hit tool

He hit over .500 with a .600 obp last year at Heartland. Solid player

I was wondering when Greysen Carter was gonna go. Fun guy to watch light up the radar gun at triple digits but can't find the strike zone.

Payton Green still available

There goes Connor Foley. James mentioned him as a White Sox option.

There goes Foley to the D-Backs. I know @Y2Jimmy0mentioned him as a possibility for the Sox.
